I agree this trail does not make any sense. Does not cordinate with All trails. We have done 6 or more trails now and have not expierianced anythin this bad. No trail markings, overgrown, dead ends. Shame it is a beautiful area!

The weather was great, and it made hiking very enjoyable. I walked 12 miles, and sometimes it was a bit challenging because the climbing is quite steep, but most of the trail is moderate. On the way back, the paved road was a bit boring, but the camp ground looked very tempting, may try it next time

Good for the winter. No water.

I loved the actual TRAIL but whoever designed this course I am not so happy with. Half of this (which I didn’t do, once I got off the blue trial I walked down the road a little to the pine tree trail) just seems to be cutting through a trail that I’m not even sure you are able to cut through (wouldn’t be my first time running into that on this app as well as this area) and then walking around the actual road which isn’t really enjoyable for me. The blue trail is a great trail though!

This can’t be right. It had me walking through reeds and there uncrossable streams. Don’t use this trail! The only other one with an entrance is completely overgrown

Summer Time Day Hike: Complexity: Moderate to Hard Terrain: Its considerable elevation gain all over the trail with lots of ups and downs. so make sure you are ready for it. Sometimes it gets rocky. Shadow: You will be under the trees 95% of the time. Trekking Pole: I did without one. As there is lots of hills which you will go up and down you might need one to support. Foot Wear: I saw a lot of people running with trail runners. But make sure it has toe guards Scenic View: Round valley reservoir is one of the best breath taking water reservoir ever in NJ i think. Beautiful scenic route and do take some swimming clothes. You cannot resist. ( Not sure whether swimming is allowed though) Trail Markers: This trail goes all the way up with red trail markers. If you are taking the right side of loop you should be fine. I took the scenic route before climbing the mountain and in the middle i got lost. Managed to get back but be careful. Parking: There is a parking fee of 10$ if you live in NJ and other states 20$. There is a lot of parking space. Around 25+ Permit: N/A Animal Encounter: Did not see anything except squirrels Overall timing: Overall with lots of breaks for me and my pet we took around 6 hours to complete the trail. Streams : You are always close to the lake. But elevation gain can be tiring so make sure you take enough. Traffic: Saw lots of hikers and trail runners Campsites: Lots of alloted dispersed camp sites and picnic areas around the lake, I even saw people fishing and picnicing Pet: Take plenty of water, its will be very tiresome for your little one. Need to be leashed. He gave up even couple of times because of the elevation gain.

Great trail. Dog friendly and not that many people on Memorial Day. You can walk along the lake and dip your feet and I seen people go all the way in even though there’s no swimming signs.

Unexpectedly challenging terrain! Making a 4 mile hike feel much longer.

It’s very pretty here! Got off an airplane and wanted to stretch my legs. Easy trail but not sure how I ended up on the green trail when I was following the blue one. Scenic and shaded. Glad I came here.

Came in through Pickel Park. Went left at the power lines and found a wide trail (road) leading up the mountain. Very Steep... brought us along the ridge and down to campground around site 46 near the pavilion. Followed the camp path to the southern parking lot where we exited.

Decent trail, easy to follow. Pretty boring with limited views and no defined "peak." Good for a casual nature walk

2.27.19. A very nice, moderate hike around a small part of the Round Valley Reservoir. I took the Blue trail and then connected to the Cushetunk trail (marked by green posts with red tops) and continued south for a bit. I then retraced my steps and connected to the Pine Tree trail (green blazes) back to the lot. The Blue trail by the water is spectacular. My stats for this combination: Distance: 5.5 miles Elevation Gain: 627 feet Moving Time: 1:47:57

The All Trails map doesn't follow the Blue Trail map. Did have a quarter mile detour to the summit. Path is muddy in spots and overgrown on the back loop. There is a short walk down the service road to finish.

Good trail, trail map needs to be updated
