Great Trail, a little narrow for social distancing with other hikers. Overall a great hike.

This was an absolutely gorgeous trail, not too long and real easy with kids and dogs. Beautiful Sunday afternoon - we only saw very few people - lots of campground areas with tables and grills and amazing views of the lake. We even spotted a beaver dam!

4 stars only because I would say most of the hike is fairly easy, save for a few inclines. Where it does get moderate is the AT portion of the loop. My friend and I extended our hike a little farther on the Iris trail as well, and definitely noticed the terrain difference between the AT and Iris. There are some beautiful ledges for some views, and a few dips to go off trail to look at the lake. Other than that the view is pretty standard, but a great hike overall! Parking was also fairly easy - get there by 10 AM and you’re guaranteed a spot, as it is a small lot off of the main road in High Point.

Gorgeous access driving and when it comes to walk it’s a very easy trail with nice views throughout the path.

Great trail for families and beginners! Went up the Red/Green trail. Well marked and plenty of shade along the way

Highest elevation in New Jersey. Had to go at least once. Was a moderate hike. Well marked trail. Ankle twisting rocks so wear appropriate foot wear

Nice trail. Diverse and well marked with great views and a swim possible. We (3) clocked the length as 5 miles, not the 3.5 as written.

About half a mile longer than listed, but a great hike!

Red dot very easy. White AT much better. Great views.

Took an extra loop to make it a little bit longer. Over all great hike, good exercise !

The trail is little rocky but not that hard. The park was empty, maybe because it was during the week. The bathroom, near the front gait was open, it said open from 10a-5pm. After you pass the front gait, pass the parking lot with bathroom, and Monument trail parking lot is on you left.

Very good hike. Was able to experience snow in May. Certain sections were rocky (along the AT) so you can take your time but most of the hike is flat-ish so very doable. Did the loop which takes you to the Wooden lookout > Monument > Cedar Bog > Lake Marcie If you parked at the AT parking, follow the blue and iris blazes to the park building, locate the white triangle indicating the AT on the grassy area on the other side of the road, cross the road in that direction and head towards the brown board saying "Appalachian Trail" pointing into the woods

Fun trail but very rocky. The rocks can be hard on the feet and tripping hazards. The second half of the loop is the Appalachian Trail and it has a lot of rock scrambles, so be prepared for that. The lake is gorgeous and was so completely blue it looked like a postcard. The second half of the trail has some really beautiful overlooks as well. You can see for miles and miles.

We did the hike today. The trees were not very green as the buds were quite small. It had a barren feeling. We saw a 6-ft. kingsnake early on; it looked well fed. I think some hikers might not consider this a beginner trail. There is not much elevation gain but navigating the rocks on the trail for most of the 7 miles gets tiring.

Nice medium difficulty trail. Lots of rocks and interesting terrains. Some views in winter when the trees don't have leaves. It also seems to be a great trail for dogs and dog lovers! We didn't walk the whole thing, but I'm sure it's wonderful all the way through.

Good strenuous uphill at the beginning, then mostly mellow. No climbing. A little boggy in spots and even bugs in the warm sunny spots.

I loved the views of this hike. Definitely very rocky and a little strenuous at times but overall gorgeous and very well marked. The parking lot is currently closed and parking is moved to the AT parking lot which throws the map off just slightly.

Our first hike on this trail. was tougher than expected. The walk was full of great views. Easy to follow trail.
