One of the best hikes in this part of Jersey Shore as there is some actual vertical to be had.

Loved the trail! It was a little tight at some points and big groups of people were walking the wrong direction so we had to pull over into the tall grass. But besides that, we loved the trail and looking out over the water

A fantastic trail. Lots of variety in terrain, flora and fauna. There are a few excellent river views. It gave me a good workout, as there are many hills and elevation changes. There were some bicyclists out both times I went, but it’s not a challenge sharing the trail with them (unlike the Orange Trail at Allaire, where hikers/walkers constantly have to watch their backs)

Nice easy trail, did an extra loop to get in a couple extra miles. Nice tree coverage for most of the trail.

really easy hike... no need for stick... confusing start to hike... highlight would be the pier lookout..canon ... and the chipmunk looking at wife while wife taking picture next to chipmunk missing the cute little critter...

Didn't finish the Grand Tour. It is mostly a walk through the forest on a winding up and down trail. Probably a better trail for a late fall or early spring hike with no leaves on the trees. There would then be more great views.

Actually a moderate trail (difficult for the area, but moderate in the gran scheme of things). Some nice views of the river, mostly shaded with a few open spots. Minus 1 star for poor blazing- only trail markers are at intersections with other trails. Sometimes the trail splits with spurs but with no marking it is easy to get off trail. As well, official trail deadends at the Grand Tour so we took an access road to get back to the car and keep it 2.3mi like the park map says.

Nice easy trail, tree covered, but lots of bikes and narrow paths, which means lots of jumping out of the way.

We might be one of those crazy couples, but we did this trail with a 2 year old and a stroller :) yes, some areas we had to carry stroller over tree roots and rocks, but overall, it was easy :)

Nice trail. We went on Memorial Day (I know that was our first mistake). We waited in line for maybe a half hour for a parking spot because they cut the park capacity and it was nice. Although we saw a lot of people in the parking lot we didn’t feel crowded on the trail. We took our two dogs on leash and we saw a lot of other dogs but everyone was supper respectful and had their dogs on leash. We found a cove off the trail and took the dogs swimming, and watched people in their boat. The trail was well walked but pretty good for the first real hike of the season. I enjoyed it and my dogs really likes it too

It was beautiful! Be sure to hike down towards the water and hike through the sea grass. So beautiful! Hiked it with my 6.5 and 4.5 year old kids.

MOUNTAIN BIKING (not letting me switch the activity) Great short loop. It has views of the Navesink River from cliffs of what must be a couple hundred feet up. Lots of fun twist and turns. Ups and downs are lively. Beginners will walk some short stretches of uphills. I disagree with the “easy” rating. It is one of the more challenging stretches of the trail system this app has listed as “moderate”.

Nice trail. Hard for beginners like myself. Got my heart rate to 187 at the peak. A lot of variety. Good hills followed by dips and straight. Would do again
