Cheesequake State Parks uniqueness lies in its geographical location. Not only is it situated in the middle of the urban north and the suburban south, it lies in a transitional zone between two different ecosystems. Open fields, saltwater and freshwater marshes, a white cedar swamp, Pine Barrens, and a northeastern hardwood forest are the main characteristics of the park. Park Entrance fee: On Weekdays: NJ Resident Non-Resident $ 5.00 $10.00 On Weekends/Holidays: NJ Resident Non-Resident $10.00 $20.00

Not a bad family hike. Quiet. Easy. Trail is well maintained and marked but muddy. Some low lying areas had standing water in them.

Another decent trail at Cheesequake. This one features a few inclines and a long stretch of boardwalk along a marshy savanna. Some muddy spots. Highly recommend boots. Fairly empty this time of year.

Fun hike. Some hills some log obstacles. Trail a little hard to keep track of with all the fallen leaves.

Small short trail with one incline. Overlooks Hooks Creek Lake.

Nice short hike. Enjoyed watching the Snappers chase minnows on the lake. Some steep climbs. Encountered large black snake sunbathing.

A little steep in spots. Nice well marked trails. Will be better when the leaves change.

Easy trail, signage is so-so, bit of GPS drift to the maps relevant position. Ton of chinpmunks and squirrels.

Great for beginners, trail well marked every 0.1 mile. Tree roots, wet leaves, some steps. Saw purple mushrooms - amazing sight in NJ!

A pleasant walk through the woods in Cheesequake state park. Most of the trail is well marked and in good shape. There are a few sections that go through low-lying wet/muddy areas that are not well cared for, e.g., logs on the wet ground in lieu of boards. Some scenic views of the surrounding marshlands but not spectacular.

Nice hike, well maintained trails. The loop is 3.5 miles, not 3. Also, since it's a weekend between Memorial Day and Labor Day, there was a $10 entrance fee. Overall it was enjoyable! Not really any spectacular views along the trail but it was still pretty.

Starting to hike again and this trail was great to kind of get my feet wet again. It is very well maintained and easy to navigate. I would like to go after rainfall so see the actual waterways filled and running. Would definitely go again.

Easy walk through the woods. A few casual trails which I'm guessing were caused by the bikers, but nothing that'll get you lost.

Pleasant walk. Didn't see any bikers out today.

Well-signed trail system in Cheesequake. Well-maintained trail. Not really much views, but a nice walk in the trees. Mosquitoes weren't bad until it hit 9:30am. Then it was like a switch was flipped.

Beautiful and fun.

Very well marked and pretty empty at the time I went which was nice. Only one area where the little stream blocked the trail but a bunch of logs were placed so you could get over without getting too wet (until your dog pulls you into the water anyway). Definitely on my list to do again in the later spring/summer as the trees were still pretty bare and plants were still brown during mid-April.

it was good but some parts of the trail were very unkempt. I wouldn't go after a rain it floods pretty bad unless I had waterproof boots.

Walking running scenic view. Mostly flat land and uphill also boardwalks over water. My favorite place to get in my cardio. My dogs love it too.

I went on a very similar trail, the red trail. It was very muddy and slippery. There was also many stairs. But overall it was very scenic and amazing.

Nice, well marked and well maintained trail that’s easy to navigate. Not a bad set of views and walks for the area.

I'll start with $20 parking fee for non NJ residents.
Park it self is very clean and well taken care of(I see where $20 goes to) Green trail was 3 miles long , it is well marked and easy to walk on. Trail should be marked as easy
