Definitely nice scenery but do not follow the marked trail on AllTrails… It is not accurate. We had to backtrack several times because the trail had been washed out by storms in the past apparently.

Nice scenery for sure and flat open trails. The only thing is this advertised 4.3 mile trail is not looped. So if you walk around the multiple bodies of water which was recorded to be around 4 miles be prepared to walk directly back your original track because of the fact that it’s no longer looped. As a result total hike is 7 or so miles.

Located near the Batona Trailhead, Bass River is a gorgeous walk. Lake Absegami is stunning year round.

These trails are the best in the area, I have being going to Bass River since I was a kid, now my husband and I love hiking with our two dogs, just mins from our house. Highly recommended trails, yellow trail is the best.

Today I hiked the 3.4 mile Yellow trail at Bass River State Forest. The trail is a very nice walk through the pine barrens at its best.
The paths are wide and very well maintained the blazes are on signposts so there is no chance of missing them.It is all flat sand paths. This will be my new go to spot, it is only 4 miles from home.
