Great, moderate not too strenuous or long. Crowded on Thanksgiving but didn’t realize you can access the castle from basically the trail so if you have little ones you could skip the trail or see it on the way somewhere else.

This was a great trail with lots of unique terrain, difficulty, and the castle ruins were neat to see and read about at the trail head. Madame Sherri lived the American dream and her castle/home in its heyday would have been very cool to experience. The two overlooks were a very nice feature to this hike. I did not mind a few rock scrambles and recommend to take the trail counter-clock wise.

the "castle" ruins are great. the hike to Indian pond is steep but not too too bad, definitely moderate but worth it, what a view! fall is definitely the time to see this.

When you get to the loop there is a sign indicating that Indian Pond is 1.5 miles away if you take the loop clockwise, and .5 miles away if you take the loop counterclockwise. Our group went to the left (clockwise) and were glad for it because as you near the pond there is a fantastic rocky spot overlooking the Green Mountains to catch your breath before continuing on to the pond. Lots of uphill but beautiful! Plenty of salamanders, harmless snakes, and mushrooms to spot throughout.

Great trail

I love this place. The castle alone is beautiful. It's a great hike and even more beautiful in the fall!

Went in unprepared with my wife and two girls, 5 and 9. Definitely should have researched this trail before tackling it. Great trail markings. The view at the top made it worth it.

Nice path with very pretty views of the pond. Finally seeing the old stone staircase was cool as well!
