Wonderful “bang for your buck” hike! On the easy side of moderate, well marked, and expansive views towards Lake Winnipesaukee and surrounding mountains. Shannon Brook and waterfalls are close by and add nice variety to this hike! A definite “must do” hike!

Nice trail, with room cool volcanic formations at the peak.

Hiked this trail many times. Great trail to get the heart pumping, low impact. Nice view on the cliff, Winnipesaukee view is getting over grown with trees. A relatively short hike giving you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your day and a nice cold IPA.

When you get to the end of the paved road, it splits into 2 dirt roads. Stay to the left and follow all the way to the end. Make sure your car can handle to big dips so you don’t bottom out. Brought my two dogs and they had a blast. Definitely would recommend!

I’d call this easy rather than moderate. Gradual ascent on a well-marked trail. The summit views were obstructed but a .3 mile trek to another vantage point had wide-open views.

All around great trail. Moderately difficult out and back but great vista point half way up and the summit has stunning sprawling views over the lake. Very well marked. There are plenty of options to connect to turtleback mountain if you are looking to pack on more mileage. I opted to explore the brook walk at the end of my hike which had SO many lovely waterfalls and wasn’t very strenuous.

The trail after the Bald Knob viewpoint has been closed for restoration.

Great little trail, I did it barefoot and took lots of refreshing detours into the beautiful brook and waterfalls.

Love this hike- but this online map is wrong. The part labeled “bald knob viewpoint” is actually the top.... and the part labeled “Bald knob” is actually a different mountain called Turtleback.

Pretty easy and great waterfalls!

It's short but steep. Beautiful view up top :)

good moderate hike with some difficult to see trail markings. gets kinda steep more than half way in. views from the top awesome. good pics along the rocks at the summit.

We took the path less traveled and went straight up. It was difficult, but very rewarding for pushing on.

There is a great parking area with a large map showing all of the surrounding trails. The trail was very well marked. Almost the entire trail is alongside the water with several beautiful waterfalls to admire. I would highly recommend hiking this trail if you’re also a waterfall lover but not so much if you are looking for mountaintop views. Heads up... there were a lot of ticks.
We found 5-6 ticks on our yorkie by the time we made it back to the car and he was wearing tick medicine. Even still I would definitely revisit this trail again.

Views at the top are worth the mostly straight up the hill trail. Cascading creek makes for a nice backdrop along side the trail. Awesome views of the lakes region. The top has a small picnic bench but the best seats are in the rocks. Wild berries in summer and fall.

Fantastic short trail with breathtaking views on 5 waterfalls, including famous 40-foot "Fall of Song". Just 1,5 mile overloop terrain often called "The little Yosemite of the East" provides great views on some of the most beautifull New Hampshire waterfals: Song of Fall, Briddle Veil Falls, Roaring Falls, Twin Falls and Whittier Falls. Located within the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area, near Moultonborough. Can be combined with longer Mt.Roberts trail.

A short but rigorous hike; pretty steep most of the way up. The trail isn’t well marked but the views are gorgeous. Once you hit the viewpoint with the Bald Knob sign you can turn around (there’s nothing past there closer to the actual summit) and it only takes about a mile to get to that point. I will probably hike this again but will do so via the Bald Knob cutoff trail that’s at the actual trail parking lot.

nice hike, one of my favorites. great viewsa

Beautiful views at the top. Trail near the top not marked well and required a scramble up steep granite. Steep hike overall and rocky and challenging for newbies like myself, but doable.

Nice half Day hike for people in the area. The first 1.5 mile and old logging road also used by snowmobiles in the winter, then take a left at the kiosk . This nice woods trail, open Beech and Maple ridge. Some rocky and root areas. Trailhead is in parking lot at the end of Moose Mtn. road in Brookfield N. H.

I’ve been looking for a good waterfall trail and this was it.

Plenty of sweet waterfalls

Walked the trail with our dogs. There was plenty of parking that leads to a few trails. It had rained the day before so the roots and rocks were slippery.
