We had a nice little walk up the trail with our pup. The area had gotten a little snow, earlier in the day. We went up the Black Cap trail and down the Black Cap Connector. Views near the top were good.

Moderately easy trail with amazing views from lookouts along the way to the summit.

Hiked up peak. Started as a walk in the woods but quickly turned into a steep consistent incline through dense wood. The trail wasn't too technical, but we were winded on the way up. View from peaked mountain is nice, though a large Walmart is clearly in view. The way down was beautiful for the first half mile or so.The remaining mile was through the woods again. I recommend following the trail this way, as otherwise you'd miss the views down Peaked. This hike is best for someone who doesn't have a ton of time and is looking for some reasonably nice views.

It’s a perfect family hike: not too long or strenuous, but getting to the top still feels like an accomplishment. There is some rock scrambling required at the top that may feel moderately challenging to some, but it’s very doable. We saw people of all ages and fitness levels on the trail. We went with several kids ranging in age from 2 to 10 and they had a blast. The two year old was carried up in a pack but insisted upon climbing the rocks at the top. There are actually several areas at the top where it was safe for the two year old to roam! It took us about 40 minutes to make it up but that was with kids. Adults could do it much quicker. Trekking poles or a walking stick aren’t necessary but they do help on this particular hike. We went around noon on a holiday weekend and it was crowded; the parking lot was full and cars were lining both sides of Hurricane Mountain Road. However, the crowds dispersed along the trail and didn’t take away from the experience at the top.

Easy, but crowded . Great views.

It’s not easy, starts off easy but the climb up is very steep. Views are great !

A well marked trail from Thompson Rd parking area to Middle Mtn to Peaked Mtn and back. Steep in some areas but a great view from Peaked. I was hoping for more from Middle mountain but a great hike.

Great hike. Some challenge for children or older folk (like me) but worthwhile.

Love it. Relatively easy for most everyone.

Love this hike! If you have kids I wouldn't call it easy...it is a quick hike but towards the top it made me nervous with the kids because of the steep rocks. Overall though, AMAZING!

Nice easy hike, not a flat trail, the last 700 feet are pretty steep, but, hey, you're in the white mountains, nh.

An easy hike with my 7 year old and dog. We did the loop at the top, it was 2.7 miles total. Great views. Very crowded on this fall sunday, had to park on the road.

Beautiful views and a really scenic hike to the top.

Great easy hike. Less than an hour. Amazing view.

Beautiful trail! Hadn’t been hiking in a long time due to illness and decided it was time to get back at it. This was the perfect trail for me to get back into hiking! ⛰

We did it with our 6 year daughter - no issues! Perfect weather - Labor Day
On the way back we took the black cap connector trail , which will bring you down the hill on the other side of the top and connect back to the black cap trail (in my opinion, it was easier to get down)... just be careful- sand patches are slippery as my daughter found out :)

Not super easy but great fun with older kids and the views at the top are just amazing. Such rewarding views for a relatively short climb. Recommended!

Sweet!!!! Favorite Hike! You will not be disappointed...

This is a great family hike, the trails are well marked and clean. There is a nice view of the top of Cranmore as you near the summit.

Nice, clearly-marked trail, just in from the Green Hills/Pudding Pond parking area. Lots of quick elevation gain, but a great spot at the top. In terms of trail running, some mildly technical stretches, but also some tough, barely runnable stretches. Great spot for a short, steep peak "assault."

beautiful hike. definitely some hard work to be done but totally worth it. ❤️❤️

great hike!
though lots of tripping hazards (rocks and many tree roots)
After .8 miles of the hike the trail splits into 2 sections
On the left is a harder .3 mile path that involves a more steep incline with some rock scrambling
On the right is the easier .5 mile path that stays consistent with the path type of the trail. some rocks and roots in the path but easier to hike up.
Both routes are worth taking to see the beautiful view at the top!
