Beautiful trail! Hadn’t been hiking in a long time due to illness and decided it was time to get back at it. This was the perfect trail for me to get back into hiking! ⛰

We did it with our 6 year daughter - no issues! Perfect weather - Labor Day
On the way back we took the black cap connector trail , which will bring you down the hill on the other side of the top and connect back to the black cap trail (in my opinion, it was easier to get down)... just be careful- sand patches are slippery as my daughter found out :)

Not super easy but great fun with older kids and the views at the top are just amazing. Such rewarding views for a relatively short climb. Recommended!

Sweet!!!! Favorite Hike! You will not be disappointed...

This is a great family hike, the trails are well marked and clean. There is a nice view of the top of Cranmore as you near the summit.

Nice, clearly-marked trail, just in from the Green Hills/Pudding Pond parking area. Lots of quick elevation gain, but a great spot at the top. In terms of trail running, some mildly technical stretches, but also some tough, barely runnable stretches. Great spot for a short, steep peak "assault."

beautiful hike. definitely some hard work to be done but totally worth it. ❤️❤️

great hike!
though lots of tripping hazards (rocks and many tree roots)
After .8 miles of the hike the trail splits into 2 sections
On the left is a harder .3 mile path that involves a more steep incline with some rock scrambling
On the right is the easier .5 mile path that stays consistent with the path type of the trail. some rocks and roots in the path but easier to hike up.
Both routes are worth taking to see the beautiful view at the top!

Liked this very much. Good for the dogs and enjoyable for everyone else

Perfect hike for families with younger children. One of the highest visual-payoff-to-effort ratios you can find.

Amazing trail for family of 6. This was our first time in the White Mountains and a perfect hike for beginners. The trail is well marked with a beautiful forest canopy to start followed by a rocky ascent deserving of some fancy foot work. The kids couldn’t wait to get to the top. What a view! Well worth it. Spent 30 minutes snacking and taking in the amazing vistas. Coming down saw many hikers going up. We lucked out not having hikers on top. Will definitely visit next time.

A nice hike with some very scenic views at the top, but it is not ‘easy’ (at least not for a 65+ year-old who is reasonably fit). Elevation increases the entire way; lots of roots and small rocks to watch out for; and large rocks to climb on the last 1/4 mile. For me it was a medium-level hike (especially since it was hot and humid today), and a very enjoyable one.

Well marked trails, lots of people. Nice views. Nice climb up and down took about hour and half total. Little slippery at the top but not bad. Dog enjoyed the rocks.

Great hike with the kids. It was cloudy when we got to the top but the kids had a great time scrambling up the rock near the top on the way up. The rock was a little slippery on the way down but we all survived. Would highly recommend. Probably best for ages 4 or 5 and up or small kids in a backpack.

Great trail for beginners or those not used to hiking but it is more than a simple walk. The views at the top were stunning!

This is a great trail! The views and hike are well worth your time. We went with 8 adults and 7 children. All enjoyed it. The children especially. While it is short and rated as easy it is a real hike. The trail is not a paved or groomed trail. There are roots, rocks, boulders, dirt, bugs, trees, gravel. Some of the parents in the group were expecting something like a groomed nature walk I think. You are virtually summiting one of the mountains. One might want to bring a small pack with water, snack, camera, light jacket or sweatshirt. Where you park is almost to the top. Just driving to the trail head was fun.

Easy hike, but you still climb enough for beginners to feel like they accomplished something. Even a Little Rock scramble and the end. Those rocks/Ledge allow for great views.

Even though we hike a lot of hard stuff here in the White’s we like to take this hike when we have a short window of time, but want to get some time in nature. It’s always a good few hours in the woods.

It’s great winter and fall too!

Today we added 3 or 4 miles by taking cutoff and looping over (1.8 each way) to the top of Cranmore Mt.

Another easy stroll through the woods with nice views from the ski lodge at the top of Mt. Cranmore. You share the space with folks that took the chairlift up but there are bathrooms, food and Tuckerman’s beer. Ha. That was a nice addition to our casual hike today.

Awesome trail for beginners with fantastic views for you reward! Loved it and will be doing it more than once.

View from the top is underwhelming. A lot of greenery. There are a few good clearings with great views though. Not too difficult and it’s a pretty brief hike.
