Easy hike with a great reward at the end. Beautiful natural formation. Worth the easy hike from the road.

Easy loop hike with some decent views. Nice place if you are in Vegas and want to get outdoors.

Path definitely could use some better marking as it was difficult to find our way to the end. Bring some water as you are out in the heat with minimal to no shade

WOW!! Me fascinó hermoso lugar.

Un paseo muy hermoso me encantó.

Easy hike with lots of diversity. Slot canyon was nice and cool and a place to get relief from the sun.

We are novice hikers. The first bit is basically scrambling down rocks. You need good footwear. But once you get down, it is great. The scenery is just gorgeous. It is worth the extra climbing in the beginning. The hike back up, if you do the loop, is much more gradual. If you start at the other end of the loop. you have to go up those rocks and that does not look like fun unless you are comfortable with that. The terrain is sandy for the first bit before rocks and after the steep climb down. Then it is more stable. Excellent hike with gorgeous scenery.

Great little trail for the kids. Saw a handful of good sized lizards. Just long enough to "get a hike in", but not TOO long for little ones. We've got 5, the littlest two being 2 & 3, and they did great.

We didn’t make the the entire trail length because of time constraints. We made it a little over 3.25 miles in before turning around (parked at the south entrance). It took us about 3 hours to for the 6.5 miles, and I’m a slower hiker.
Trail was pretty clearly marked except a small patch or two when you had to scramble up or down some boulders. I enjoyed it and would like to make it the whole way. It was phenomenally gorgeous!

Amazing Experience

A long trail is not necesarily the most scenic! This short trail (1.1 mile round trip) is chocked full of glowing red rocks, seasonal wild flowers, and rock formations (arches and windows). We finished this trail in about 1 hour at a moderate pace. Sometimes if you are new to these kinds of trails, it's not always easy to spot the arches and window that hide or get camouflaged in the multicolored rock mounds. Since we have been on several other trails throughout Utah, we have gotten used to spotting some. While this video shows one arch in the peaks of the rocky cliffs, there may have been more we missed due to our fast pace and still relatively freshmen approach to trail walking and spotting natural features.

Neat, quick hike.

A fun little trail with an easily accessible slot canyon. Great family hike.

So many petroglyphs! I’ve never seen this many in one place before. I was really impressed.

It's a pretty nice hike and if you're already at the park, it's worth seeing. Parking is crowded. The patterns the rocks make are pretty cool. Downside is that, until the end, there's not much to see along this trail.

Nice easy hike with the cool fire wave rocks at the end. The path could have been marked a bit clearer as we went a bit off course but still worth checking out.

Awesome off road trip. saw 12 head of big horns. Just before the old car. lizards everywhere. Drove the loop and then some.

I loved this trail! You can have a lot of fun. I went off trail and hiked to the top of the rocks and the view was breathtaking. If you like hiking with some obstacles give it a try. Totally recommend to get a little lost and enjoy the chance to take great photographs. Sun was hitting hard. Highly advised to drink plenty water and wear sunscreen.

Short and easy! The color change in the rocks is very noticeable and you can get a close look as well. Hiked to days ago and it was very hot!

Neat climb up a staircase to get a close look. But there is also more petroglyphs to look at all around the bottom of the mountain.

Definitely a must do if you're in the area. Heading clockwise, there is some sand to trudge through at the beginning, but the trail is mostly easy going, rock paths. It's very heavily traveled, and I had an enthusiastic but loud group ahead of me, which took a bit away from the sense of exploring on your own. But, there are enough side paths and places to explore that it wasn't a huge issue.

Lots of amazing rock formations to see an climb on, as well as an ever changing landscape. The slot canyon is very brief but also very very cool.

Absolutely stunning. It's a very short trail, but worth every moment. The first part has some trudging through soft sand, but the path towards Fire Canyon is mostly rock and easy going. Incredibly beautiful views of the canyon. The markers are easy enough to see, but you don't really need them, as it's fairly well traveled and you can see footsteps in the sand.

Wow! Technically speaking only base on Fire Wave Trail - Nice. Small thought. The Trail is Easy, big rocks plus the “Fire Wave (like) Rocks” are just cool, watch your step the rocks are rigid but other than that it’s something different. Sit, relax and clear your mind.

Very quick and easy hike with cool views of the rocks in the park. Would be an easy hike to pair with another longer hike for the day. Lots of water needed as most of the hike is in the sun.

Hike was crowded mid-day on a Tuesday in April. I imagine the whole thing would be more grand in early morning light anyhow. Lots of lizards, blooming cacti, and beautiful striped rocks.

Beautiful hike and no crowds on a Monday.

There's actually a looping trail here, but many people took the direct route to the elephant rock. I recommend the loop, as there is plenty of beautiful scenery to enjoy.

Many petroglyphs to see- don't miss this short hike!

Taking this trail clockwise (starting from the left behind the toilets) can be intimidating as you go down about 200 feet down a man made stone staircase. This can be tricky if you're not used to it, especially as the sand on the steps can be slippery with the wrong shoes. If this intimidates you, I'd suggest to start the trail from the other side of the parking circle, taking the trail counterclockwise. Going from this direction, you will take a sandy trail following the side of the road, then down some manmade steps (much more standardized in size than on the other side of the trail, and not steep at all- you can see those steps in my photos), then a short slick rock you may need to step down. This is the hardest part on this side of the trail, then the trail will be realatively flat for about .2-.3 miles, then it will get a little rocky. You could go down in to the wash take a left into the 'slot canyon' ... at the next left is where you can go up the 200 foot incline (staircase) or turn around and go back if the steps are intimidating.
