Terrific state park with easy hikes in the beautiful nevada desert. A welcome nature respite from the vegas scene.

Visited Valley of Fire Sept 7th. I recommend seeing this natural wonder early in the day. Extremely hot midday temps prevented us from see much away from our car. Would love to return in the spring/early summer.

Extremely hot temperatures kept us from completing this short trail. I made the ultimate error and wore sandals. Felt like I was walking on fire as the temperature was 106 degrees! Petroglyphs were easy to find.

Unreal. It’s like you’re on a different planet with the multiple colors of sandstone crashing on one another. The hike to the wave is very easy and hardly any elevation. Just make sure you bring plenty of water and id recommend going early in the morning or late in the evening because it gets hooooot there. Only 40 miles north east of vegas so if you’re in town you can make it a quick day trip. Definitely worth it! They have a nice visitor center and they have campgrounds but you can honestly knock out the whole park in less than a day.

One of my favorite hikes I’ve ever done. Short and sweet. It’s all sandstone blown from the wind so you could probably do it barefoot in some spots. I hiked the whole way in my five fingers with no problems. Breath-taking views the whole way and the lookout at the end is the perfect picnic spot. I would say it’s probably a 30 minute hike out but we stopped several times for photos. Valley of Fire is one of my favorite state parks and it’s a must visit if you’re in Las Vegas.

Really awesome short trail that takes you to unique formations. Nice way to get a taste of what the wave trail is like without the lottery. Be advised: no shade, bring LOTS of drinking water. Would love to return to spend more time when not so hot.

Hiked this around March and it was the perfect weather. Gorgeous colors and striations. I highly recommend this hike as a time-out from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas.

Very easy walk down from the parking area to the petrified logs. They’re cool to see, especially if you’ve never seen petrified wood before. Very hot and no shade.

I loved this trail. The fire wave is beautiful, don’t miss out on this! I hiked it in March when the temperature was about 68 degrees, and I still got pretty overheated. I would not recommend doing this trail when it’s very hot, it could become dangerous very quickly.

Fairly easy trail with beautiful scenery. I really enjoyed the petroglyphs!

Lots of sand makes trekking a little slow, but beautiful views. Scarce shade, so best to come early. Marked pretty well.

Trail with neat views of the fire wave, 7 wonders, narrows, and interesting landscapes and rock formations. Markers only at the fire wave, so it's good to have All trails open to stay on course. Will come again with friends.

This place is super cool. We did a 4-mile loop that was absolutely beautiful but it was incredibly hot. I would like to go back when it's cooler. bring a hat, sunscreen & plenty of water. Worth the trip if you're in Vegas and want to get some hiking in.

cute trail of you don't mind hot sand and hotter rocks

Nice trail. Don't miss this.. It has beautiful scenery and is fun and easy to walk. Was there during cooler weather (78°) so it was easy to deal with heat-wise.
