Thoroughly enjoyable and easy
A bit difficult to find the start of the trail or maybe I’m just stupid! Parking was also a pain.
Please be careful - the heat even in the morning is overbearing at points. Take plenty of water and sunscreen.

If you’re hiking along the gravel wash, you are not on the actual trail (I realized that about 1 mile in.) Once you get to the north side of the mountain, I recommend veering right to go up and over. It adds some nice elevation and leg burn. Be prepared to scramble back down on the east side.

I loved this trail, great scenery. I did however fall and broke my wrist, can’t wait till I can do it again, just as soon as I get the cast off.

More visually rewarding than the Strip in Las Vegas.

Took a little longer than expected, but our group loved the trail. Be sure to use the app because the trail is not well marked at places. We only saw 9 people during the entire 6.3 mile loop which is why we selected this trail. The views of Las Vegas and the Red Rocks are great and the elevation and loose rocks make the hike difficulty moderate. Loved it and would do it again. It took us 5.5 hours for the entire loop but all of us are over 60 years old.

Really rockey and trash everywhere. there are a lot of off shoot paths so it's a bit confusing choosing the main path sometimes

Started from the Cowboy Trail Rides side. Nice leg burn up through Caren Canyon to Muffin Ridge. Great views of the Strip for about a half mile along the ridge to the BDH peak. The descent down leads to multiple trails that connect to Boneshaker and ultimately back down through Fossil Ridge to the parking lot.

Enjoy the drive, but be sure to get out and explore as well. There are hikes for all skill levels/ages throughout the park.

This is absolute must.

I hike this about once a week, great exercise.

Hiked this a few years ago over the Thanksgiving weekend. Moderate effort but not very well marked. We took a few guesses that turned into dead ends. Since we weren’t on a schedule that wasn’t a problem. Very nice view of Las Vegas.

tons of trails to hike right beside vegas cant go to one without the other

Nice hike. however, you definitely want to pay attention as you may get lost because the trail is sometimes hard to identify.

Great hike and a perfect day to do this open spaces hike. No water. In any of the creeks. Beautiful vistas and unexpected views of Vegas at the top.

Beautiful drive!. We wanted to go hiking but it was raining all day. We decided to drive the scenic trail and then went into a few diff trails and snapped some pictures. We were all impressed and will visits red rock again!!.

Good trail to run but you have to dodge a few mountain bikes along the way.

Stunning views on Red Rock and on Las Vegas. Trail is not marked good enough so it is beneficial to control the way by using GPS in AllTrails app.

this area has several trails that vary in length and difficulty. Many of the trails can be linked together to create loops

This is a great trail, but trail markers would be nice! We strayed from the trail twice when the path wasn’t as defined but once we realized we were heading the wrong way it was easy to get back to the trail. Great views and not a lot of people so that was nice!

Great views and a good workout. Best part was how few people were on it- only passed 5 hikers and 3 mountain bikers on Saturday at 10a- hard to find that anywhere in Red Rock. Also, very dog friendly- I was able to keep mine off leash for about 5 out of the 6 miles.

First hike since I moved here. It was an awesome trail. I will be going back to try more. Definitely recommend to others.

My favorite kind of trail because there was almost no traffic. It's just past the visitor's center on your left. You will see a sign for horseback riding and the trailhead is just after the sign to the right. The terrain is Rocky but no boulders to climb. The rail does not have a sign marking it not are there markers along the way. There are a few spots were the trail is pretty Rocky and it can be tricky to see exactly which way it goes. The view is AMAZING! If you are into photography this trail is for you.

A good option if you're visiting Vegas and itching for an intro to the red rock landscape this area is known for.

Main walking paths are DEEP GRAVELLY and rocky. Not easy to walk. Worth to check it out on a clear cool day

Great 2hr hike for me and my dogs!

Beautiful day for a hike! The views are awesome. We went clockwise and were grateful once we got to the Bone Shaker downhill. Lots of loose rocks and ankle twists. If you’re using a ride service, schedule your return ride ahead of time. We lost cell service at the trailhead. Go!!

Nice easy trail if you follow the right path. Trail forks several times. If you're using the app you'll be fine. Great scenery and cool rock formations. Bring plenty of water. Great workout!

For running, this trail is up there in difficulty. The switchbacks are quite steep on the way up and there are plenty of loose rocks and sharp turns on the way down. Also, several other trails intersect the loop and the correct path is not always marked. The view of the valley at the top is well worth the effort though. Definitely recommend hiking before running this trail.

this trail has some nice parts, but a lot of it is running through a deep gravel pit.

Too much very loose gravel
