Nice Little hike. My wife and I are in our mid-60's and we walked up to the falls and backtracked to the loop trail. The hike took about 70 minutes. It is worth the trip.

Nice walk , good pictures for adventure album.

More like 7 miles out and back. Good moderate hike!

Loved it. Surprises around every corner.

Beautiful challenging hike!

Beautiful

great time will do this hike again

nice trail! not too much snow but lake was still frozen over.

Really enjoyable on a cloudy day in May- not too hot. Not a dull trail, always changing and new things to see. Genoa saloon right on the way back!

Beautiful views and a fun hike. There was still a good amount of snow cover by Marlette Lake, causing us to lose the trail coming back around the ridge and requiring some bushwhacking until we were back on track. Especially enjoyed seeing and hearing sooty grouse along the trail.

Great hike above #Genoa. Excellent trail. Waterfall.

Great hike!

A definite must in the early spring snow runoff. Easy access.

Short hike but I like to loop it around and take the old King’s Canyon Rd a bit on foot and then join the main waterfall big loop, turning it into about 5.5 miles. A bit of an incline up the old road and you’ll want to stay alert due to the 4 wheeling but it adds a nice workout to the otherwise short trail. The waterfalls are very nice, just stay out of the water, it’s the water source for Carson.

Spent Black Friday doing this hike with very little other hikers. We encountered quite a bit more snow than we expected and should have brought snowshoes, so word to the wise, the snow is very deep in November. Nicely marked trail, beautiful views of Marlette Lake. Pack a lunch and enjoy the little peninsula that stretches out into the lake.

Nice little trail

We didn’t quite make it to the reservoir as we turned back due to snow a little past the water tanks. The views were beautiful out to the Carson Valley below. It is a steady climb (but I’m 70) and we determined to come back in a few weeks. This would NOT be a good summer hike - I’d drive up a different route. But there is plenty of water for the dogs in a creek most of the way. Can’t wait to try it again in the Spring and Fall and see the lake and fish.

Took my 6 month old for an adventure in my backpack. Encountered lots of snow on the northern facing slopes.

Easiest little trail! Amazing with snow!

I looking at the water fall

Right now (feb 19th) snow shoes are needed from spooner summit down to the lake. Wind blown snow drifts present. Beautiful regardless.

Great exercise on this trail especially when you start on the south end. Very beautiful trail! Waterfall. Great scenery of the Carson Valley as well.

beautiful! went a few days ago and once you get passed Spooner lake the snow can get deep. I still wore hiking boots and did fine. snowshoes would've been helpful

Good little hike great views.

Amazing loop trail with great elevation!

The hike to the falls is quite short and very easy. The falls themselves were absolutely beautiful! We spent a long while just hanging out there and admiring it. We were about to head back to the parking lot when we saw an even higher trail so we decided to take it. AMAZING views and lots of fun. It can get a little steep and scary, considering half of the trail is right on the edge of the cliff.... but amazing nonetheless. All in all we were here for about 3 hours

I did this trail the last weekend of October. The fall foliage was absolutely beautiful as were the views. The fall temperatures make this hike much more pleasant than in the summer. This is not a trail to do when you are out of shape or feeling less than energetic. No, you can not drive and the label of "Hard" should be noted, as it is.

Great hike!

I have been on this hike several times including the new hiking route portion. It is suitable for more most hikers.
I have discovered something rare, topograghy-wise,nearby the new hiking trail. i wonder if anybody else has noticed it, hint, it is near the wooden footbridge.
