Beautiful rigorous day hike in the Eastern Sierra of Reno/Washoe valley area. Trail begins at Davis Creek and ends at Rock Lake and is located within Tahoe National Forest. Rock lake is one of the more unique Sierra lakes and the views of Slide Mountain are fantastic. Fall color opportunities are dotted along the trail in groves of Cottonwood and some Aspen. Trail is a hard steady climb but the last .4 to the lake is down hill. One portion of the trail is actually a small creek bed. Show more
