First overnight trip for my 11 year old. Choose this because of the easy grade, although the 3.5 miles to be able to camp was a bit far for his first time I think. Had a nice time though, and the creek water felt great on the way back under hot sun. Didn’t see any critters.

Always enjoy the Rattlesnake.

Beautiful easy hiking trail along the river.

Did this trail with my husband and 8 year old son. It took us a couple of hours and was pretty easy. We took a detour trail down the middle and the rejoined the trail described here. While it was a little longer it was beautiful and worth doing.

***July 14th, just late in posting. Awesome hike & run! I felt the trek through the first maybe 4-5 miles through the valley was a little stuffy. After that though in gaining elevation the views and terrain started opening up. The views of the lakes towards the top were incredible! And the scramble to the summit was pretty crazy but well worth it.

This trail is not near Sawmills Gultch. It is part of the Wallman trail.

A fantastic trail for beginner to intermediate mountain bikers. Wide trails, steady incline, plenty of shade and plenty of places to relax and enjoy the scenery. Very dog friendly as well if you want to ride with your pups. Both trail runs and cyclists would appreciate.

Beautiful Saturday, warm temps & the Lupine was spectacular & fragrant!

Fun little hike. I am guessing this is rated moderate for the uphill portion. The old cabin was cool. Definitely watch out for mountain bikes- there were way more bikers than hikers on the trail today. Some wildflowers. Very pretty.

I went the meadow way first and then down Curry Gulch. The meadow is beautiful and it’s not difficult to hike up the gradual incline.

This was a great little solo hike that took up about 4 hours of my morning. Sound of the creek was relaxing and gives a opportunity to cool off when needed.

Took my wife and 2 young kids (6 and 10) on this hike and they did fantastic. The second portion of the hike was the most memorable descending along a more exposed mountain side. Highly recommend :)

I think this should be classified as easy-moderate. Not many views but it is a nice trail of you want to get out in the woods. Still quite a bit of snow at the top, but I was able to trek through it. I took my shoes off at the gulch because it was too wide to cross over and did not want to get soiled! Also some fallen trees and branch cluster build ups sporadically along the trail. Other than that, great trail!

Beautiful loop, my pup had a blast! still quite a bit of snow so be prepared.

great trail. a lot of everything to see and do

Nice trail for winter fun like snowshoeing, cross country skiing or fat tire biking. Quite crowded, at least over the holidays, but everyone seems pretty happy to be out in the magical snowy wonderland. Wide trail, fairly easy and mild. Gorgeous views, and you follow the creek off and on along the way. Only did a few miles today, but excited to go back for more!

So beautiful after rain. Switchbacks were just right for a challenge. Great views. Bring some snacks and water.

This was a great workout! Lots of mountain bikers.

This is a nice day-hiker. Bring lots of water since there's only one little spring about halfway up and it could be dry July and later. Not much for views till you get to the top but it's worth the climb. Cheers

Road our bikes to Franklin Bridge last Friday. First Mtn bike ride for my girls and they did great. Wildflowers beautiful, White Tail and Mule Deer and our second run-in with a year old Blond black bear just off the trail. Other hikers, walkers and cyclists were courteous. The creek is still pumping!

Rode my bike up the trail about 5 miles, then hiked the rest of the trail. Amazing views from the top.

Walked the trailhead to the Pilcher Creek crossing on Friday, June 16, 2017. Easy walk, light drizzle. Beautiful wildflowers, two black bears near the trail. Large Elk tracks and droppings and white tail and mule deer near the trail.
