Highly recommend overall great experience!

Very uphill trail on the way out but is very scenic and feels almost like you’re in the Pacific Northwest. Lake was still a bit frozen at the top, but still space for fishing and even saw a few fish ryes. Be prepared for a calf workout!

Amazing trail. Easy with nice path. Steep as you get closer the falls. Rocky area to explore around the falls. Many great views of the lake and surrounding mountains as you climb higher. Also some small beach areas.

Previous comments regarding down trees are now corrected and the path was clear! Very beautiful hike! Some snow around the lake still. We also came across a black bear less than 10 feet from us so definitely be prepared.

The trail is in wonderful condition! All clear of blown down trees- thank you Forest Service! No snow until we reached the lake, then still a few feet in places- also snow and Ice on the lake. The trail was busy today with hikers and dogs but everyone was having a great time.

Hiked all the way to the summit Mon 6/1/20, still some snow near the top, could have used a pole or two for navigating that part, but found a stick that did the trick. Beautiful shaded trail and views at the top did not disappoint!

Gorgeous short hike with a few good inclines. Not many other hikers on the trail. Water was running high so some muddy areas, but mostly dry. Trail is in great shape, having recently been cleared from a massive wind storm. My daughter got a few bites while fishing. Fish were jumping everywhere. Didn’t see any wildlife except some wood ducks on the lake.

May 30, 2020 - trails are clear of any snow and offers nice fishing access. Our group ended up walking an extra mile (the sign where the trail split off seemed to be taken down) as we didn’t know what trail to take. Make sure you look at the trailhead sign to know what lake you want to go to. But, a fun, easy-moderate hike (can be tougher for young kids in heat)! **bring bug spray!!

Great trail. Clear all the way to the lake and just a couple spots that where muddy. Mosquitos where not bad and we caught a couple fish using a meps spinner bait. Definitely will do it again

5/29/20- could not drive even to the parking lot. The Snow (2-3’) starts about .7 miles out from parking lot. Which means entire trail would also be snow. Do not go yet.

As of 5/24, there were a few snowpacks to climb over in the last couple of miles but the trail is covered in several feet of snow starting around 6800ft. Snowshoes aren’t necessary but you will inevitably posthole a few times getting up and down that final section.

Beautiful trail, tons of waterfalls if that’s your jam, if not, plenty of other views to take in. As of right now the snow gets full on within a mile of the lake, but it wasn’t very post-holey (if that’s a word). Lake was just beginning to thaw but we saw no fish in the openings.

Snow starts ~6200' elevation (on 5/22/20). Lost the trail and started postholing in deep snow with fresh powder about 1/4 mile shy of the summit. Planning to re-attempt in a week or two when we get some melt!

5/21/2020 Gorgeous views in places, but unfortunately a storm has wrecked the trail. We had to climb over/ under 87 large trees (one way). By the elevation of the lake, there was 5-10 feet of snow, making the trail very steep and challenging for the last mile. Still, a fun hike!

Amazing hike. We did not make it quite to the lake due to snow but amazing scenery regardless.

Great first hike trail for the year!!! A lot of people, children and dogs on trail. Go early. Trail conditions are great!

My friend and I summited this hike about 6 days ago, and loved the journey! The first 5ish miles were dry and warm...drank lots of water. The last mile was a snowy adventure up, but made it wearing tennis shoes amidst lots of sinking through the snow. The panorama view at the top was incredible. Going down consisted of some sliding, but we ended with happy hearts and sore bodies. *There are only mile markers up to mile 3, so don't continue looking.

I went to summit. Well a few feet shy. Lots of snow (maybe still 2-2.5’ in some areas) and it was socked in with mist and low cloud cover. GreaT day for it though.

Beautiful forest you traverse through, with lots of giant tamaracks. We were completely alone on the trail and encountered what we believe was a moose close to the lake- heard loud cracking and then a sound like a truck starting. We decided to turn back at that point.

Beautiful view from almost anywhere on the trail! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes there are some rocky places but it’s very worth it!

Pretty easy hike with nice views of Lower Holland Lake. You get close to the falls, but it was crowded when we went. Dog and kid-friendly, lots of places to stop and take a dip in the lake along the way.

5/9/20 trail conditions pretty good, just a few trees to step over. Lots of foot and dirt bike traffic. A beautiful day for a hike though. Too early for wildflowers and the lake was partially frozen. Should be good in a few weeks.

Very beautiful hike. Goes right to the falls. Areas to skip rocks. Dog friendly. Some shade can be found.

We only went up a few miles. Trail conditions were good. Lots of wildflowers. 5/5/20

Could not make it To the top. Post holes up to my waist and I couldn’t see the trail anymore still was a good hike
