The trail was snowed over but was able to follow my map and made it up super easy. A few trees fell down over the trail but it was easy to climb over. The wind at the top made it super windy so maybe a windbreaker would be good.

Went to the falls today, 6 miles and about 3 hours. Beautiful hike. Light snow flurries. Hardly any people. Very easy trail, some rocks, not a ton of elevation.

Quick in and out walk with the dogs to the bridge. Perfect temp and conditions for hiking. Overcast, a little wet but not raining. I didn’t see a single person on the trail. Very easy.

this seems like it would be a great hike in the right season. the road to the trailhead is pretty well maintained for all but the last mile and even then, should be passable by anything with average or better ground clearance. the trail itself is aptly rated as moderate. with the exception of the final approach to the lookout it’s an easily managed, gradual climb along a clearly defined trail. hiking this mid-October, crampons probably would have helped speed up the final mile to the lookout but it was still manageable without traction devices or trekking poles. when I did make it to the ridgeline, I was greeted by clouds in all directions. gauging by the views I managed to catch through the clouds on the way up, I’d bet the views on a clear day would be outstanding from the top though. even still, it was a nice hike and I’ll probably take another crack at it next summer

The trail map on the app needs to be updated. It got us most of the way and then said we had reached the end of the trail and recorded distance and expected us to turn around? But beyond that the hike itself was incredible. That first stretch was a little harder than I was expecting for a moderate hike but after it smoothed out it was great. Try to go early in the day so you have time o enjoy it. We went late in the day and had to leave because it was getting dark.

An easy hour hike up and back. Once I reached the top, I spent hours up there soaking in the view. One of my favorite hikes I’ve done in this area.

It was a good trail, very steep for most of the hike. Don't stop at the false peak, making it to the real summit is really worth it (and climbing over the rock slabs is fun). You feel like you are on top of the world.

Discovered this trail on All Trails. We hiked this trail in Sept. the weather was perfect for a hike. Gradual uphill a bit rocky not difficult, the views in the canyon were amazing! Loved this hike!

Beautifull hike! One downfall, the trail ends according to AllTrails, at the small river crossing after +/- 5km! So we turned arround. But if you want to see the waterfall you have to keep going after that point, i read. Beautifull tho!

I don’t know how they label this trail difficult. The only thing difficult is the elevation gain but that was not insane, just substantial. It’s actually rather well groomed, probably 80% of your footsteps fall on flat packed clay, or at least they did this morning, September 23, 2019. Nothing technical whatsoever to the hike, just a good steep walk. Not even a rock scramble. Great views, if the clouds afford it. One may see Idaho from the top. Tower is now closed to visitors.

Great hike! Dog and kiddo friendly. A small amount of snow at top but mostly clear.

As previously mentioned, the temperature turns dramatically colder towards the top, accompanied by a strong wind, so bring lots of layers. We got to the top during a white out snow storm and I ended up layering up with a down jacket, thick fleece quarter zip, hat, and gloves. I do tend to run warm and was able to hike most of it in a short sleeve shirt and rain jacket. With regards to difficulty, the trail itself I’d rate as moderate, but the high elevation (~7000-9500 feet) makes this trail very challenging.

An amazing trail with breathtaking views especially at the top.... great place to rest and refuel ....dress accordingly ...the wind changes the temperature quickly at 9400 elevation ...

Easy hike for an outstanding view.
