Enjoyed revisiting this trail and introducing it to a friend. we traversed close to two miles to enjoy the lower falls. I am on O2 (4L), but made it!
The creek was high, so I couldn't let the kids slide down the rocks into the swim pools. Our puppy enjoyed it too!

Easy to moderate trail. Beautiful views. Past the Falls is a bit grown in. Make sure you have plenty of water for after the falls. You can’t get close to the Creek for quite a ways.

There are just a few spots where the trail is muddy or under 1-2” or water, but they are easy to cross and totally worth it to see the waterfalls as roaring as they are right now. Tons of wildflowers and butterflies. Great hike!

A spectacular hike that affords plenty of attractions if you are willing to work for them a little. You follow the Creek for the first few miles which culminates in a breathtaking waterfall. Ran into three different washouts of various length, some more treacherous than others, but all doable. This hike earns every bit of it’s hard rating.

My partner and I went about halfway, and it was absolutely gorgeous the whole way! Watch your feet, the trail can get narrow and rough. I've heard you can camp in there? Didn't try it.
Not sure how long it takes to get to the end of the trail, maybe one day we'll do it.
Definitely recommend for just about anyone, the trail isn't flat, pretty rugged, but I'm kinda fat and was able to hike it at a fairly quick pace haha

Love this trail. Well marked. Water is awesome this time of year!

Easy. Beautiful. The creek is very high right now, but if you go later in the summer, there are some sweet swimming holes above the falls a bit. Lots of wildflowers today, and lots of people on the trail. Most folks only go to the falls, though, so if you hike further there's less traffic.

Absolutely beautiful.
Very easy to do. Not steep at all.

Heavily populated and not hard to find people.

Great hike. Falls were amazing! Trail was good, a few muddy spots and water running over trail.

Beautiful hike with my dog. Quite a few people with children in the first mile or so but the further in you go the quieter it gets. Gorgeous views and right now the water is running high and fast which makes it even better. The trail is well maintained but on some of the descents it was easy to slip on the packed dirt. I didn't bring my poles with me this time but I will the next time I come. I only hiked 7 miles as I started later in the day but I will be coming back with my dog to hike the whole trail. Highly recommend this trail!

amazing waterfall, lots of water coming down the trail right now but you can get around it. easy hike as far as I was concerned

Many of the descriptions people have posted are incorrect. This is a great hike with several potential destinations. The first are a series of falls about 2 miles in. This area is spectacular and fairly busy. Many hikers stop here. At about 3 miles you cross the creek on either a sketchy log or by wading. From there you have several miles of flat thick forest to hike through. At around 7 miles you reach a series of bedrock creek cascades that are gorgeous. This is a possible camp location as well. Once you progress beyond this, there are fairly frequent flat and relatively open areas if you want to camp below Bryan lake. At about 8 miles, you hit Bryan lake. When we did this trail in 2015, there were quite a few logs over the trail in the upper reaches. I don’t know if they have been cleared since.

This is a beautiful hike. There’s a variety of terrain and I would rate it as moderate. Lots of shady area right along the creek. It climbs at a constant pace so definitely a nice moderate workout. This is one of my favorites.

Beautiful scenery! Snow the last 1.5 miles.

Trail is in great shape, still was quite a bit of snow. But well worth it!

Deadfall. Depressing views.

Totally love this hike. By far my favorite..

Beautiful hike with opportunities to get in the creek. Just be careful driving to the trailhead, still a lot of ice and snow!

Beautiful trail, steep incline at first, but levels out through the canyon, which is breathtaking and impressively tall-walled! Young pine forest surroundings. A friend I visited at Missoula State took me climbing here for my first time and it is a memory I will cherish forever.

Road to trail was good, trail was melting snow/ice.

Beautiful trail, RD to trail head was in great shape. The trail is icey, I suggest micro spikes. If your GPS tries to take you to Jackson LN it's incorrect.

Absolutely breathtaking. Simple hike.

Beautiful hike and great for the dogs!

October 2017. Lots of down trees, due to the summers fire. Very interesting to hike through the burned areas - some places it burned very hot and there’s nothing left. Some fire retardant still around, which make some areas look like hiking through. a technicolor dreamscape. It’s a different experience than usual, but very interesting. The fallen trees make it more challenging and slower than usual.

Although we didnt make it to the falls (maybe half way there) it was beautiful along the way! definitely will be returning to finish

Beautiful fall colors, great trail

Love this trail, it is a hard hike however we have hiked it 2 times with our 3 children. The baby was in a pack on my back and I was tired but I was able to do it without complications. The older two hiked it with a few breaks, but we made it a mile or two up.

Enjoy!

My friends and I enjoyed this hike very much. It offers a nice incline on the way up to the waterfall, and then the decline back down isn't too bad. Didn't see too many people for a Saturday. The waterfall is such a reward. You can hike up to the top of it. If you want after you hike to the top you can cross the water hike down a bit, and see the waterfall fully; but, there is no well marked trail to do this.
