fast pace trail very cool temps throughout the hike due to the woods

Great trail for the whole family. Very easy bike ride

is the 9.7 mile easy to follow?

Enjoyed the bluff view. There are a lot of mountain bikers. Lots of mosquitoes.

Great trail, just be aware of all the bikers. They don’t like to say anything when they are coming, so you have to be aware.

Hiked this with my three kids, 12,9 and 5. They aren’t ones for long hikes, but they enjoyed this 5 mile out and back with a great lookout at the turn. Close enough to civilization that you have cell service in the event you suddenly hear thunder and need to check radar, as we did. I highly recommend this trail for families in the STL area looking for a nearby hike.

I’m relatively new to mountain biking, but could not imagine a more enjoyable, picturesque trail.

Good overall Trail with little bit of everything, along the river, along a vertical bluff, then a little elevation, forest, a little stream, culminates into a picturesque valley view with a river running through it, and then back.

Flat trail that has a lot of offshoots allowing you to add mileage as needed. Will definitely hike this again!

Very enjoyable.

Kiddo loved it!

Great trail with a good mix of uphill and downhill. Beautiful view at the top. Hikers and mountain biker use both, most bikers give good warning that they are coming up behind you as the trail is narrow.

Easier to find trailhead in Bluffview Park rather than by the railroad. Nice hike but lots of bikers.

New favorite local trail, right in our backyard !!!!!!!! Closest real trail to the house, 15 minutes away!!!!

Great single track running trail. Gradual up, lots of shade, beautiful overlook, moderate traffic

Great views of the Meramec River. Get on the trail early to avoid the mountain bikers!

Nice trail, well kept. Very busy nearly all the time though. Also, if you're walking, watch out for the bike riders, they go very fast and some pass without warning. When I go with my daughter, our favorite thing to do, to avoid her getting run over by bicyclers, is to take a side trail down to the river, look at rocks, fish, et al.

I have yet to make it the whole way on this trail. There's always significant amounts of mud somewhere that deter me from continuing. However, someday I will finish. The overlooks are neat and only a short distance from the parking lot.

I run on this trail all the time and every time I can't believe how lucky I am to live so close to it! Beauty is everywhere.

Started out in Glenco at the Wabash and Pacific mini railroad - took the scenic path first - (about a 1/2 mile) then went down to the river access and checked out the river - then headed up the actual gravel trail until I got to the cutover for the Rock Hollow trail. Over all the part of the Al Foster trail I was on was ok - not difficult at all - so it would be fine for beginners or kids.

The new loop is amazing single track. Also a great hike that can be joined to bluff, which is an amazing view.

Bluff trail is a must. Hiked 7 miles in until the skeeters got too bad. nothing exciting but good family trail. Also had train rides if that's your thing.
