I loved this trail! We became trail runners tonight, and other than the mud created from yesterday’s rain, it was terrific! We will do this trail again!

Kinda boring but overall not bad

The trail was good. We were able to keep sight of the lake most of the way. This trail has lots of tree roots to hike over, but it was a peaceful walk. My daughter, Emma snapped some pictures for me. Day two of training our dog to trail walk. She was a little wild today so it took everything out of me to walk her. We will press on!

Great trail, but if it weren’t for All Trails, we would have been confused. Trail head not marked, blue ribbons finally indicated the correct path. Tough going for us since it was our German Shepherd Husky mix’s first time for public leash training. In the end she enjoyed it. Way to go Scout!

enjoyed this trail so much a ran it twice. great mixture of hills and meadows.

nice trail in a great park. it shares points with another trail so you can go the wrong way if you aren't careful.

Nice easy trail behind visitor center but nothing special. Would be good for children.

Trail was not marked well. It took about 40 min & has a nice ending by a lake. I would suggest it, but it’s nothing great.

Great place to get outdoors, hike and install the love of nature to small children. For me, it was close and it’s too beautiful of a day to not hike!

Would be really nice in warmer weather when it greens up. Trail is not clearly marked in some areas. Awesome ending.

Beautiful trail. Lots of roots and stones.

Similar to my experience on McAdoo Trail--way too muddy to venture far on this trail. We made it to the small pond, then turned back around. You reach this TH after going through the main entrance of the Park, turn left at the Visitors Center and follow the road out of the park to Hwy DD. Good road signage to get you to Opossum Trail and to McAdoo Trail.

I picked a very muddy January day to check out this trail for the first time. I liked the trail enough but it didn't make a huge impression. The first half mile or so, you are close enough to the highway to hear the traffic noise...not my favorite. You cross a small creek early into the hike. It was frozen solid on the day I went. It is an easy trail, with occasional rocky sections. Not much climbing. There are two sections of the McAdoo Trail. The section I took first was at the end of a gravel trail that gave way to the natural trail surface. I followed around clockwise to the connector trail (blazed with white numbers) to shorten my hike, mainly b/c the mud was so unpleasant and slippery. I headed back to the small parking area and turned around to discover the other section, entering near a small pond. It was notable immediately for the tall pine trees and the cinder trail surface. Much more enjoyable, but soon enough, the pines disappeared and it was more of the same mud. I might come back in drier weather.

Good hike. Terrain is rocky but easy to handle. Easy to moderate hike. Finished just under two hours.

Well marked, good trail running course.

Well-maintained and blazed trail. Not particularly challenging, which means not that much fun by my standards, but its length (one of the longest around for me) keeps it in regular rotation.

easy walk, fun for the kids. saw some cool mushrooms and the kids like playing on the spill way

good hike. took us right at 2hrs

Nice little short trail. Only took 45 min for the red trail not 1 hr and 20 minutes. Has some good spots for cardio workouts climbing up and down hills and tree roots.

Pleasantly surprised by this trail. It's not very well maintained and it's seen it's share of erosion, one can't help but wonder if that was due to mountain bikers biking when it's muddy. Lots of tree roots and loose rock to trip one up, also beware the acorns and walnuts this time of year. We didn't see any deer, but did see a hawk trying to hide from us, heard plenty of birds (songbirds and woodpeckers), and I almost accidentally stepped on a turtle. We stopped and admired it for a bit. The terrain changes in just 2 miles were numerous. It was a beautiful hike, very green and shady in early September. At one point you hike above a gorge with a creek below, at another, grassland, the rest forest. Hikers prone to weak ankles should think of taking poles, due to crumbling rock. Crossed a couple of wooden bridges, and that's always neat. If going in summertime/early autumn, don't forget the bug spray. We did, as we hiked this on a whim after plans changed. We were pestered by large horseflies, gnats, and of course mosquitoes. The trail was VERY well marked, can't say this enough. It was a welcomed/pleasant surprise after getting lost at some state parks previously due to poor trail markings. A++ would hike again. For parents with active kids who like the outdoors, this would be a great hike, especially as the trail starts at the edge of a playground. Thanks, Knobnoster! We'll be back to do the Opossum trail!

This was a nice walk close to the Knob Noster campground. A quick mile around the lake and saw some really cool mushrooms!

This trail was very well marked. We enjoyed the long hike, had a few big hills. A few downed trees that we could crawl over. Nice and quiet. At the end there is a beautiful piney patch of woods that makes you feel like you're not in Missouri anymore.

Greatest workout

Great trail. Did not complete full loop but took white connectors. Lots and lots of trees down from recent storm. Lots of different kinds of oaks.

Beautiful trail. Not many pine tree trails around here but there is a small section in McAdoo. It was a nice surprise! My new favorite of all KNSP trails.
