This was a great trail for the kids. my 3-year-old walked the whole thing. The kids saw a bunch of fish, a skink and a turtle.

Trail was just as good as the first one. if you're looking for an easy one this is good to get some fresh air.

Went after rain so trail was very muddy. Tons of toads. Easy trail.

Easy trail. Tons of toads. Nothing particularly great to note.

Nice easy trail. Would hike when dry

Fun trail. Gorgeous views. Steep slopes next to trail. Would only want to hike when ground is dry to ensure solid footing.

This is one of my favorite trails in St Charles County with the section along the top of the bluffs. The spiderwebs completely covered my hiking stick as I was first on trail this morning.

The trail was a little muddy today however it had just rained last night. Also the bugs where horrible and I forgot my bug spray. Overall it was a nice trail and I’ll be hiking it again.

The best part was going over to this lake with the white sand.

A great hiking trail. But if you notice it’s closed to bikes, then beware of the mud. We saw a few hikers slip and we had to avoid some down inclines because of muddy trail parts. Beautiful views - my two teenagers also had no problems on the trail.

Start from the parking lot at the Meeting building and go up the Overlook Trail which looks over the river. At the top the trail starts and follows the bluff along the river. There is a fence to keep you from straying too close. It then meanders down the hill to the creek leaving you to walk back up the hill to the parking lot. Very pretty views.

Quick hike for active hikers, a nice stroll for beginners with some decent altitude. We managed it in roughly 35-40mins with two dogs and a couple of short stops. As said already, there is a perimeter fence on the bluffs so the views are restricted. Overall a good trail for a quicky or a decent running workout.

The Hogsback Trail is a 1.16 mile long loop trail that you can access from the Overlook Trail near the meeting center. The trail is pretty rugged but an easy feat. It has fences along the edge to keep you from getting too close to the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Missouri River. Therefore, views during the summer months aren’t too great here unless you’re willing to risk the $1,000 fine and duck through the fence real quick. I took the trail looking for scenic views so not having any very clear shots, I turned back at the switchback down the hill. The Overlook Trail is where I recommend going in this park if you want to see some scenic views!

Very fun and quick trail. I was back to my car in about 45 min with a few stops along the way. Well kept and I only passed a few people along the way. There’s some nice shade from all of the tree coverage, too.

Loved the scenery. I was glad to see some snakes on the trail! Awesome creatures! Fairly sandy in some areas. Would be great for fishing.

I took the Hogsback Trail with my 10 year old son in late October. Gorgeous foliage, didn’t see a soul on the trail. 1.6 mile hike.

I have hiked this trail every year for the past 5 years. We started with the current scouts and continue as a traditional hike. The park is well maintained and has camping including primitive and cabins.
