Walking on rocks that are 1.6 billion years old. Incredible geological history.

Fairly short, but beautiful hike. The trails footing is manageable. Pay attention to the end of the trail in the wooded part of the hike cause it's hard to find again.

Fantastic geological formation.

The rare honeycomb formation on the plateau makes this hike worthwhile. Otherwise, it is a short, unremarkable hike. Nice views.

Trail is well defined. There are two trails that split off, so you have to make sure you stay on the right trail. When you get to the top, the views are beautiful. The trail took about an hour to walk all the way to the top. Worth it. Bet time of the year to be in the area with all the trees changing colors. Also, there is no sign the says anything about "Devil's Honeycomb", the sign for the trail head reads "Hughes Mountain Natural Area, Missouri Dept of Conservation"

Views are amazing. Easy hike even with little ones.

great hike awesome views when you get to the rock mountain very peaceful.cant wait to do it again

It is a bit of a work out, but worth the hike.

Fantastic views! Make sure you go to the very top even though it looks like the trail ends.

Loved it such a short easy hike for some magnificent views!

I go here a lot. There are only 3 other places in the world that compare to the unique rocks you will see here. The others are The Devils Causeway in Ireland, and The Devils Tower in Wyoming.

Cool trail to hike. The rock formations were beautiful and the view was amazing.

A great trail to experience! Wear good hiking shoes for climbing on the rocks.

Great little trail. Easy elevation changes, simple trails and spectacular 360 views for those adventurous enough to do a bit of freestyling.

Nice hike good views.

Interlocking basalt columns are the main highlight of HUGHES MTN. Hexigon shaped rocks fitted together similar to giants causeway or devils tower (ireland and Wyoming)

Not to mention the near 360 degree view of the surrounding area, make this an all time favorite; most views like this come with a 2 plus mile hike.

Visable trail is half mile and then freestyle your way to the top, another half mile. That half point has a pole of some sort; im assuming there was a flag at one point.

You will want to mark this spot on a gps or mapping program cause you will be circling for a while on return if you dont... Which is why this gets a 4 instead of the 5 i would love to give.
