Easy hike to start off a full day of exploring the park. The path is paved which is nice. It was definitely the most crowded area of the park. Interesting to learn the history of the castle from the placards.

nice little trail. my kids and dog enjoyed it.

Well marked trail with great valley views, steep drops and lovely creek access. It was a wonderful spring hike. I would not think the view would not be as great with all the leaves on the trees.

Great for walking. The castles are really cool.

Was disappointed that you can not get close to the castle. But it is probably due to lack of respect from others. There is amazing views from the ruins. We did see a lot of vultures.

Love coming to this place! Beautiful all year round!

Great hike. Didn’t not do the full 7 because I left my cord to charge my phone but when I got back to my vehicle I seen a tower and walked in that direction and found a cave and bridge which led to the HA HA castle which was awesome and I would highly recommend it and I actually ended up doing 7 miles anyway lol

One of my favorites at Ha Ha Tonka, for the variety --cool boulders and climbs, then rushing water when you hike down to the confluence.

Was disappointed to find that the ruins have been fenced off and you can no longer go through the "rooms" and see the views from the "terrace." My last visit was 5+ years ago, so I had been looking forward to exploring inside the castle. Views from along the ridge are great. Two turkey vultures soared right above me and I thought were coming straight for me!
The trail itself is paved and accommodating for lots of people/stollers/etc., but it's not the highlight of the park for me.

I connected to this trail from the Colosseum Trail and did not do the full wooden staircase trail on this trip. I always marvel at the beautiful, clear water and the turquoise blue of the spring at its origin.

Did a light overnight trip here. Walked about 4 miles into the loop and set up a hammock camp near the bypass. Good views, well maintained trails, and enough variance to keep it interesting. Saw deer galore both at camp and while hiking. There were some coyotes in the area but they stayed clear. I'd visit again if I were in the area.

Great initial backpacking trail. Didn’t run into too many people.

The spring is stunning!!!

You can see the castle on the cliff from this trail. The spring water is really blue and clear. There's a cave that's difficult to get to, off the trail, but well worth it if you can make the very steep climb up and down.

Great moderate trail. It was raining and windy when we walked it, but it was still beautiful. Beware that it does get very slippery when wet. Would like to go back in the spring to see the glade flowers bloom. There is a marked shortcut for cutting it down to five miles instead of seven.

For the season, we couldn't have picked a better day to go for a hike, although I can see where bugs might be an issue during other months. The ecological make up of this trail is what makes it fun. The rock formations and vast praries are beautiful with some unique scenery. The trail was well maintained and easy to access. It didn't feel like we put in the miles, even hiking in to look at a primitive site for camping. It was worth the trip down.

After hiking 6 miles in the forrest, this seemed a little touristy for my liking. Clearly the concept of leave no trace did not catch up with humanity in time and was evident in the sings telling you to stay on the path and the reasons for doing so. None the less, the lighting was phenomenal and lent it's self to the castle ruins and panoramic views nicely. The trail was easily accessable and nicely paved for those with disablities. The side trails lent a nice off the beaten path if you wanted to get away from the tourist asspect.
