Decent enough trail that's probably best traveled during the spring or fall when there is some more color to appreciate. There were a surprising amount of armadillos surrounding the trail!

The trail was well marked which was useful with all of the fallen leaves.

I completed 8 miles of this on a family float trip. It was beautiful with little to no people when we went. There was also a cute little duck that swam around the boat for awhile

There wasn't really anything spectacular or noteworthy on this trail and I noticed about halfway through the hike that there were dozens of chiggers all over me. Maybe it was just the wrong time of year for enjoying this trail? It was Labor Day weekend.

Trail was not marked well at all, ended up on the Natural Tunnel. Trail was not not taken care of, over grown, family got covered in ticks!

Sign said 1 mile long, but we only made it to the other sign that said .4 miles. Couldn't see anywhere where this trail was extended any farther. Pretty simple and flat.

Great float. Returned and did it with the family. Have canoed the Niangua numerous times with several routes. Always a great float.

It is very common to see Bald Eagles in the area. This trip a bald eagle swooped down with in 20 ft. of us.

Wonderful walk along the spring! Don't get distracted by watching the fly fishing or you might miss a step and fall in. Park at the store and take this trail to the Savanna Ridge trail head to extend your hike by a few miles.

Nice hike with good scenery, not real well marked and there are a number of other trails that intersect. Nonetheless not long enough to get to lost.

We live here, and float Moon Valley to Bennett or Moon Valley to Prosperine/Mountain Creek all the time. It's going to be shallow in dryer spells and faster/more attention demanding in wetter spells. I love that there are not a lot of people on the upper part. We floated it 12/4/12- last year- in 77 degree weather, and it was beautiful. It was right after deer season, and we saw several carcasses and one little doe that was dying half in/out of the water at the bottom of a cliff. We could do nothing for her, unfortunately. Saw three bald eagles that day as well. there was not a soul on any stretch, although it was a gloriously beautiful day.

Have done the float several times with our scout troops. 25 miles with an overnight camp on the sand bars is challenging for 12 year old scouts. We always incorporate trout fishing at Bennett Springs SP and do the Natural Tunnel Trail at the park before we head out on the river.

Niangua is a very nice clear spring fed river. Very few signs of civilization also past the first 10 miles - not to much in the first 10. There is virtually no traffic once you get past the first 10 miles which has regular use by the local outfitters.

Great float stream. This is an easy 5 - 7 hours float or can be an overnight camping on one of the numerous sandbars. Great trout stream. Best done mid week to miss the crowds.

Did the trail in the spring and caught a good show of spring woodland wild flowers. Trail was easy and pleasant. Typical for the ozarks, but the Savannah was nicer than most. Burn Management by the park service is doing a good job in maintaining the Savannah. ***You must do the adjacent Natural Tunnel trail, the natural tunnel makes the longer trail worth it.***
