Trace State Park offers a quiet, natural retreat located just minutes from the excitement of Tupelo, one of Mississippi's fastest growing cities. Trace State Park offers a variety of outdoor activities ranging from fishing and water sports to exploring miles of secluded nature trails. A special arrangement with the Pontotoc Country Club allows Trace State Park guests to enjoy the club's 18-hole golf course without paying green fees.

As a local, this is a fun and moderately fast trail for those that know it well. For first time riders, it can hold some challenges. It’s not flat but nothing insurmountable. It’s been affected by work on the lake and may have more changes as lake repairs continue in 2019.

This is a mountain bike trail first, hiking trail second. Currently, the lake is drained for repairs. Obviously, the trail will have more to offer when the lake is restored. The park is secluded and quiet and there is ample opportunity for birding.

Fun woodland trail. It is well marked and adequately maintained. Shade the whole way in the pine woods. No water in the lake...not sure why. It may be seasonal. This is a good trail for a young active family. Take plenty of water. Our college son and his dog enjoyed it. Great relaxing ride along the Natchez Trace Hwy from MSU in Starkville to get there. 4.5 miles in a few hours. $4 to get in w trail head right at the gate. There are other trails available too which we just didn't have the time (or energy) to get to. Fun time for Illinois flat landers.

Awesome trail for hiking. Very scenic. Very shady. We had two grandsons with us, ages 3 and 9 and they handled the trail easily. Would definitely recommend Trail to anyone. Just be aware you must pay to use trail system.
