This park is situated on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Perhaps best known for its historic lighthouse, this park offers numerous recreational opportunities. Visitors can cart-in their supplies to pristine campsites along Lake Superior. Scenic trails along the lake link up to the spectacular Superior Hiking Trail. Anglers cast their lines for lake trout, salmon, and brown trout. The rocky beach is perfect for skipping stones into Lake Superior.

A bit muddy in sections, but overall a great hike. the bridge is gone at the crossing, but we were able to pick our way across on the rocks down stream of the bridge site.

Nice little 5 mile hike with a view at the end!

Pretty cool trail that follows the split rock river for about 2 miles. I warn you that the bridge is out at the point where it crosses the split rock river. Our intentions were to take the loop around but our trip turned into an in and out due to the missing bridge. Cool hike none the less, wet in some spots but still worth the hike.

beautiful hike, many steep hills

Gorgeous terrain and could be viewed as a challenging hike for some. Allow the entire day to take in natures finest.

It was fun I followed the superior trail loop. The views were amazing and the weather was decent. I had intended on snowshoeing but the trail was pretty beaten down so I ended up walking.

Great views of Lake Superior and the Split Rock Lighthouse. The rocky shore is fun to explore and there are plenty of smooth rocks to skip.
