With its pristine lakes, virgin pines, swimming beach, and wilderness-like setting, Scenic State Park is well deserving of its name. Here, visitors can hike the Chase Point Trail for hypnotic views of Coon and Sandwick Lakes and listen to the wind whistle through the giant pines. The park's overnight facilities include campsites (boat-in, drive-in, backpack), and a cabin. The historic lodge houses interpretive displays.

Beautiful views - water- fall colors- interesting shapes to the trees that had blown over - yes it was a windy ridge trail -but that kept it from being muddy! There was a little mud right at the start but easily avoided - the stairs at the end of the trail down to the water are new and amazingly sturdy! They will be there for a long time. Easy trail , good for families. Then we walked from the “parking” sign trail head to the ranger station on the trail thru the woods that was so colorful and pretty -to pay our park usage fee- didn’t realize we needed to do that since the trail head sign is before the ranger station, totally worth it.

Fun hike, nice park

gorgeous hike.

Had a great time hiking around this park. Rented the CCC Cabin, that was fully stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, fireplace, fridge and a stove top. The trails are beautiful, people are nice and the park is well taken care of. Be sure not to forget anything the closest town is big fork which doesn't have much to offer.
