Definitely more difficult this time of year with the thaw. Going down hill in some areas was challenging, but it just encourages you to find a better trail. Lots of options and a beautiful view from the top. We brought dogs who loved it and we barely saw anyone else on the trails so we felt more comfortable letting them off leash for the muddy slippery down ward climb. Recommend for adults and older kids only, there are some very steep inclines.

This is a surprising little gem! The terrain varies, you get a great view of the river valley, and it’s close to the Twin Cities. A couple warnings - it can be precarious on the downhills with snow/ice, and you have to park in the lot to the north as Flying Cloud drive is closed. Definitely recommend!!

one of my favorite quick hikes, the view from the top is outstanding! must use top entry wile road construction has closed off access to lower lot currently.

The directions to this trail are incorrect coordinates

Awesome trail! Great hill and rewarding view at the top. Be warned that it is not accessible at this time, though, due to construction on Flying Cloud Drive.

Great trail. My dog loved it too. You really cant get lost, all directions loop around back close to the parking lot.

Awesome trails that had pretty good elevation gain over short distances. The Stinks (dog) was tuckered out toward the end. The “Big Woods” have a rich history that you can read about along the trails. I wish it was a longer hike but it was fun!

Lots of route options with several small loops that link together. A great nature route with overlook views at the top

Some great inclines on unpaved trails. Kids able to climb fine. There are several microclimates in the short walk... woods, sandy, prairie. Great overlook of Shakopee. Bring bug spray and sometimes rain can leave a soggy trail near the parking lot.

Did not expect to find a trail like this in this area! Great mixed terrain with some awesome (bigger) hills, beautiful woods, great prairies, and overlooks.

Good trail close to home in Eden Prairie.

loved the scenery, beautiful landscape, and alot of fun. they also have a natural spring fountain to drink from

Nice trail. elevation change is not too difficult. could be muddy. snow and ice on the trail now.

Great hike. Some steep ups and downs, but you're rewarded with nice overlooks.

Great amount of elevation over a short distance. There are no overly large climbs (200' or more). Good scenery; feels secluded even though it's in the city. Would be nice if it was longer, but multiple loops works pretty well on this one if you mix up each loop.

We really liked this trail. Lots of elevation change and beautiful views. It's not the longest trail but worth it. It's also very close to the Cities.

It's beautiful but short !!

Nice short hike with a few steep hills

We only did the short trail...Nice trail that had a good incline and nice view. Recommend bug spray and hiking boots, there are muddy spots. I look forward to going again and doing the longer trail.

My fiancé and I enjoyed scenic views of Eden Prairie along wildflower lined trails. An uphill hike mostly, but lovely in early July.

More of a moderately difficult trail, but nice views!

Great views! Trails could be marked a bit better in some places.

May 28, 2017. A lot of rain this spring has given birth to way too many mosquitoes. Bring you bug spay. I found it unbearable.

It was amazing. So beautiful out there today. A little muddy when you first start, but soon becomes more dry. Loved it! First time there and I will be going back!

Love this trail. It has some steeper hills, lots of trees.

Great trail. We took the west side and really enjoyed the hike. Good elevation gain and beautiful views up on the top.

Very steep hills at some spots but once you get to the top it's beautiful. Worth the run/hike up.

Great little trail to get a little climb (comparatively speaking for the area). There are spring fed streams running throughout that stay open during the winter, and nice views from the upper trail. Most of the people we met were walking their dogs. During the summer it would be a great place to go to picnic, as there are several tables along the way. The park is currently open daily, not April-October as listed.

This is a great hike and reminds me of a short snippet of a trail you may find on the west coast. It can be nearly vertical at times but it's short lived and it rewarded by great views of the valley or the peaceful beauty of the forest.

Live nearby and hike it several times a year. Great view of the Minnesota River Valley. A number of hills makes for a good workout. Heavily wooded areas help to cool you down in hot weather.
