This was a fun and easy jaunt along one of Lake Superior’s sandier shorelines. My 5 year old at the time had no trouble navigating the trail under the pines, and we were all thrilled to explore the beach and the driftwood structures left by others. Great bird watching, if you take a moment to lift your gaze. (Hiked April/2015)

Not my favorite trail, but still nice. A lot of sandy sections.

Nice trail overall. A bit hard to walk in some areas because of sand.

I did this trail and it is very easy because there is no elevation change. Fun things to explore along the way like old boat house structures

My favorite trail in Duluth. You are wandering the woods surrounded closely by water. I also love that it stays rather dry even with rainfall. Not terribly muddy when weather has moved through. Be prepared for sandy socks and a great outdoor exploration.

must see

on Park Point

Thursday, August 27, 2015

Beautiful views of Lake Superior, ore docks, grain elevators, ships, and the harbor. A must see is the old lighthouse on the point.

A very easy hike along the barrier point between the harbor and Lake Superior. Several side trails to the beach on the north side. a wonderful long sand beach with waves and beach-combing. Great views of Duluth and up the lake. Amazing sights and sound when big waves are rolling.
