Wife dropped me and my bicycle off in Brainerd and picked me up in Walker. It's great as a point to point bike ride as it takes you through many small towns and lakes in the heart of Minnesota. Walker is a pretty cool little town and I would recommend staying overnight at Chase on the Lake. It's a shame there aren't better restaurant options though. Once you get close to Walker there are a few other trails that branch off, so you might want to freshen up on the map in that area before heading out. Also the trail is in pretty good shape, but there are so many trees that there will probably be a decent amount of debris, so just be mindful because a simple acorn could really ruin your day.

Very short but pretty

There were some trees down across the path but we were able to easily go around. This trail would be good for all ages. Short enough that littles wouldn’t be bored and no change in elevation. Recommend it, the views are gorgeous.

Great all around trail for activities such as biking, birding, running, walking, and rollerblading. Enjoyable for so many people.

The overview calls this a hiking trail, but, it's a muti-use trail primarily used by bicyclists in summer and snowmobiler's in winter. It's one of the first Rails to Trails trail, so it's railroad grade.very flat. It's a great trail for cycling, rollerblading, jogging etc.. It has many rest stops along the way so It's great for family rides. I guess you could "hike" on it if you were looking for an extremely easy hike.
