Prairie lovers, this park is for you. Trails wind through one of Minnesota's finest and largest remnant prairies. Listen for bobolinks, prairie chickens, marbled godwits and upland sandpipers. A picnic area, swimming area and campground are located in the hardwood forest along the Buffalo River. The park is only 14 miles from the large metropolitan area of Fargo, North Dakota - Moorhead, Minnesota.

A nice place to get some fresh air, away from the city streets and sounds, we brought the whole family (including the dogs) and had a good 2 hour hike around, time well spent.

only 10 miles out of Fargo so that's a plus, but nothing special.. pretty much flat and mix of grassland and prairie trees

There are more trails available than the 2.5 miles indicated.
I did 7.5 miles last weekend. They are not at all challenging and many are along and/or though grassland areas. None-the-less, it was pretty.
