Loved this trail - perfect for kids too, distance is perfect.

Agree with review below, a favorite for the lower peninsula. Recommend heading out clockwise...reaching the water last. That way you can look for Petoskey stones as long as you want. Otherwise, you have the remaining hike looming. Terrain changes are amazing. A favorite for sure

One of my favorite short hikes in Michigan. Keep going south on the ridge all the way to Treat Farm if you want a real adventure!

Easy hike on well maintained trail with fantastic views of Lake Michigan.

Exhilarating hike in mostly sand. Lots of amazing views.

basic trail equals half on park road, watch for right turn at paved road or you go way out of your way. Advanced trail stays in woods, taking advanced trail next time. dog friendly. pretty walk, peaceful.

Great dune hike. Best done on a cooler day.

I felt it was a very tough hike but well worth it. There are a ton of amazing views of the lake and the beach was very nice with amazing views of the islands.

Hiked this trail on a late Sunday morning. We first stopped at the beach, which was gorgeous. The water was crystal clear and there were only a few people on the beach. The trail is well marked with blue posts and as always, hiking in sand adds a different level of difficulty to the hike. The views are incredible throughout and towards the end you are able to "cool down" by hiking on stable ground through some forest. We only passed one person walking in the opposite direction and seemed to have the trail to ourselves. It did seem as if the beach became more crowded when we finished as the parking lot was full of cars and bikes.

Super easy trail with gorgeous lookouts. Can be heavily trafficked depending on time of year/week.

Well maintained trail, with even mulch along the way. First island look out is beautiful and looks like a tropical paradise. Continue to overlook big glen because that water color is out of control beautiful. It has a bit of an incline but nothing too strenuous. Go to get a good idea of your surroundings. Trail is very dog friendly.

My 1yo had fun walking the flat parts and playing in the sand. Stopping at Village Pizza and Tiffanys ice cream are definitely highlights of this trip!

Great views of Big Glen and Lake Michigan. Definitely dog friendly

Beautiful views! A bit hilly and lots of sandy walking areas.

Various terrains represented Great hike and swim Hit the CG museum on the way out

Trail was amazing, well kept and spacious. Unfortunately it started raining 5 minutes into the hike but the trail was perfect.

Beautiful, easy trail. I went in spring when the trees were a bright green. The view of the water at the end of the trail is amazing too. Highly recommended!
