Nice trail. A couple areas fairly wet due to rains the last couple days. Foliage still coming out. In a few weeks, will be much prettier. Lots of birds and critters on the trail. Great to see some Great Blue Herons. Also a pair of swans. Well worth the time.

Lots of wild life, just remember the animals aren't scared of you.

The directions lead you to the back entrance to Kensington and direct access to the trail. The Wildwing trail is 1 of 3 near a nature center all under 2miles. The nature center, the beginning of the trail, has birdseed available to feed small birds which will come eat it out your hands. A beginner hike with scenic route.

Great trail that starts with a beautiful view of the heron rookery. Only one hill to negotiate makes this 2 mile loop great for kids, and there are plenty of edible berries along the way too. Just look out for the feral chipmunks! As you will usually see 20+ along the way ;-)

Lovely flora and fauna can be found on the Nature Trails surrounding many bogs. The trails varied from winding dirt paths to boardwalks through marshes with a handful of inclines. Many photo ops and places to explore. I would definitely recommend this as a spot for day hiking

We walked the 8.6 hike here--it is moderate with many inclines. Take water with you as there are stops but they are spread out. Beautiful views of the lake.

The Wildwing Trail is closed to jogging, bicycling, and pets (as is all of the nature study area at Kensington Metropark) which makes it a nice place for a leisurely hike. Many people feed the birds here which makes them practically tame. I have hand-fed six different species.

Loved the trail. It was a bit crowded but maybe because it's early in the season

Decent climbs and a couple of trail options. A bit boring for 20+ miles, but the lake is refreshing in the summer.

Easy hike, beautiful pictures. Not too many birds in the winter, but I an looking forward to going back in the spring!

Well maintained trail system within Hickory Glen Park. Lots of dirt trails into the woods as well as a main paved trail through the park. Paved trail rates as easy and dirt trails as moderate difficulty. Bridges, hills, twisting trails, skinnies. 5-7 miles of trail fun.

Leisurely paved biking/walking trail. Lots of people. Especially crowded on weekends with nice weather. The loop is about 8.5 miles and well marked. Fantastic scenery.

Fun trail to walk with the kids. Bring birdseed in the Winter and black-capped chickadees and tufted titmice will eat out of your hand! Easy to spot woodpeckers, cardinals, and blue jays along the trail. Sandhill cranes with their trumpet-like calls are residents here. a very well-maintained and well-traveled enjoyable trail.

Good paved running route. Nice views of the lake. Mostly flat, one big hill in either direction. In the winter it is about half cleared.

This is a really nice trail for a casual hike: not strenuous at all. It's great for pre-teens and adults, but bring a jogging stroller for younger ones. I've seen owls, raccoons, deer, eagles. Coyotes have also been sighted, so watch little ones. Dogs "must" be leashed but the trail is always seemingly deserted (wink, wink).

A great little trail where you can feed birds out of your hand. Just take along some black oiler sunflower seeds, hold them out in the first 300' of the trail and share the world with nuthatches, tufted titmice, chickadees and sometimes a woodpecker! The lake has a Great Blue Heron rookery, deer are qjuite tame, and Sandhill Cranes breed in the area and often walk right by you on the trail. Doesn't get any better for a quick hike or a family outing.
