Nice wooded trail near town. The trail was very private and I was the only one hiking it. If you are looking for a quick, mostly flat hike this is a great choice. I would give it a 5 if it were not for the road noise from Hwy 2.

A beautiful trail, but needs some maintenance. The bridge by the falls is closed, and we came across a small bridge that was completely collapsed. (Luckily there was a large, sturdy, fallen tree nearby we used to cross.) Still had a good time, it would have been a perfect hike if the trail had more upkeep.

Biked this trail on a Monday morning. Never saw another person on the island. The trail is very difficult. Had to push the bikes in a couple of places. Very muddy and the trail was almost washed out in a few spots. Views are stunning especially on the north side of the island. However it is difficult to stop and look because the mosquitoes are so bad. We had long pants, long sleeves and used 2 bottles of deet and still were chewed up. Make sure you take lots of water. There's none available on the island. It took us about 4 hours to bike the 21 miles. Overall it was a great experience.

Trail lives up to the difficult rating. Like all the other comments bug spray, bug spray, and more bug spray. Mosquitoes were on me from beginning to end. I’m glad I bought a head net at the dock before. Best $5 I spent in long time.

I would give 4.5 stars if available. Overall, a great experience and I will return. Stunning views and cliffs all along the north side. Some musts: Bug spray- the mosquitos are no joke (most would recommend a net as well as long pants) Reserve camp spots ahead of time- I went into the weekend thinking I would random camp like I always do in the national forest. Wrong. Fact of the matter is if you’re following the rules, there is not a lot of random site opportunity. Not much flat/open land. Sites are very nice and well worth the 8$. I was nice and let people camp with me at my reserved spot but I wouldn’t expect that treatment from everybody. The “first come first sites” are not accessible by trail. I got lost trying to find them.

Generally good trail. Certainly enjoyable.o

The two track trail opens up to unveil views just beyond. Long expanses of lake dotted with land. Waves of rock curving into the lake. A dip into Lake superior is as energizing as a cup of coffee. The creeks that trickle through the rocks hold small trout. Do bring long sleeves and a mosquito net.

This was by far the hardest hiking/biking trip I've ever done. Some musts, if you haven't biked for a long time do yourself a favor get back into it, you backside will thank you. The bugs are always bad, bring bug spray and be prepared that spray doesn't always work, a netted hat helps. I recommend going counterclockwise, the hills will be more in your favor. Hydrate before you go and bring a water filter. When they say there's no water they mean it. However, there's several locations with decent streams. Trails were not bad, some mud and rocks, but passable. Plan ahead and good luck.

This trail is beautifully scenic and fairly well marked. As another reviewer stated, it is 12 miles, not 9 or 10. We were confused a few times when the trail cut across roads, but we figured it out.

This is a combination of three small trails in one. My husband and I did this hike May 30, 2019 and at this time of year I would definitely name this trail Trillium Landscape. There is an abundance of Trillium, Forget Me Not, and tall fern throughout your hike making it one of the prettiest I have been on. This hike is easy and has added beauty thru birds singing around every bend you take. Keep your pace going at this time of year, as the mosquitoes obviously call this trail home. But even so, we never got bit :)

Nice scenic trail that goes by a lot of water. Was a bit squirrelly when I hiked it, still a bit of snow. So that slowed me down. Follow the blue markers!

Walked in on the snow to see the “Eben Ice Caves”. On the packed snow it was a wonderful hike. No ice cleats needed until arriving at the caves themselves

We did this trail in October in rain and snow and it was still a great time. we had a pretty easy time staying on the trail with very few map checks.

Not impressed with the waterfall, but a decent short hike.

Bike Ride was amazing. We clocked this at 21 miles and took us 5 hours to complete including a few stops along the way for photos. Lots of trees down from last nights wind where we had to lift our bikes. Sections of the trail is also washed out but doable, just keep watch. We went clockwise and we were glad we did, conquered the hardest section first. Id rate this as moderate to difficult.

We enjoyed most of our hike, but found the wayfinding quite challenging. The portion that goes up after the road to Maple Hill is very poorly marked.
