Revisited the Bluffs to see how it looks in summer. Trails are narrow, with a fair bit of poison ivy. Hills are still nice. The numerous intersections, dead-end trails, dense understory, and complete lack of trail marking make it even more of an adventure than in winter. Probably not a walk for the casual park stroller who wants well-tended and trimmed trails with clear markings. For what it's worth, I have yet to find a map that accurately reflects the currently usable trails. I have one on CalTopo, no promises it is accurate either (https://caltopo.com/m/N16D). Recent pictures are geo-tagged to my 20190626 Bluffs Nature Area 1.9mi track. Bluffs Nature Area is like a restaurant that serves delicious food, but isn't particularly clean. The trails are nice, with plenty of up and down. But there are places with a fair bit of trash and the entire park could use a nice controlled burn. While there are views of the Huron River, North Main Street and its businesses, as well as the train tracks, are between the Bluffs and the river. Hopefully someone will get back in Spring or Summer to get some pictures with some color. I saw nobody else when I was there, but the trails were solidly iced over everywhere except a few southeast-facing slopes. My pictures are geo-tagged on my track. A few more, and higher resolution versions, are on johnmetzler.smugmug.com/parks.
