Loved this hike! Easy place to spend a couple hours exploring. You’re outside; expect there to be bugs! There are some smaller, off the beaten trails, that are overgrown. Overall great area, not a lot of people, and very peaceful! Highly recommend!

nice trail, well maintained, good hills, and good diversity of scenery. it's unmarked so use a map+gps.

The part of the trail that's within Bird Hill is nice. Well forested, a little hilly. There are a lot of alternate trails and beware that nothing is marked.

Very easy trail, good for beginners and has a good diversity of sights. Lots of evaluation changes but nothing to intense. Beautiful sights with trails close to the river.

No map sign I used all trail app to tracks.

great trail, nice hills, traffic noise unpleasant though for the section that runs parallel with super highway

Many different path options, some small hills.

Nice variety of scenery but outside noise and unmarked trail makes it less enjoyable.

Love the views here in every season! Definitely a plus that parking is easy. There’s also multiple places to start easily and wind your way back. There’s a flatter side that’s good for a long walk, or a hilly side that’s good if you’re trying to make it a workout.

A great trail for beginners. Although the trail is not distinguished all that well it is easy to follow with a map and offers a wide range of terrain from hilly to flat. I went and was able to make my way to Barton dam, which is off the trail but easy to get to. Barton pond is right there as well, for anyone who wants to sit with a scenic view for a break!

Nice city trail that offers some nice hiking terrain. Trails aren't marked so the map was helpful.

nice trail that's popular but not widened. hills and views of the Huron, and lovely fall colors. unfortunately lots of dogs off leash which my dog doesn't do well with.

Okay trail for the city, but definitely not one of the best in the state like its current ranking. Lots of road noise.

Fun and challenging!

Beautiful trail in many ways. Loved the dam and the views of the river. The problem is BUCKTHORN - the invasive species has overtaken much of this trail. You can tell the city tries to manage it bc some areas have none and then there are forests full nearby.

The trails were good. Rough enough to make you feel like you’re trekking through the wilderness. However, the constant noise from the expressway was a bummer. I guess it would be better than a neighborhood stroll if you live nearby.

Awesome. Beautiful. Challenging. Repeatable for sure. I did this course in reverse by accident, really rewarding either way. This is a must do.

The trails were very nice. I would definitely say I would go back but the noise from M-14 was a bummer and thank goodness for this map. There are no markings and we often seemed to walk off the trail. I like the interactive map as a guide but would prefer to not have to rely on it. We often had to stop to look to determine which path yo take or were backtracking because we missed a turn. The scenery definitely made it better but will plan to check out other trails instead of going back.

My favorite park in the area, only downside to me is the proximity to M-14. Not challenging enough to be a “hike” in my book but enough elevation change to be interesting and a good workout on the inner loop if that’s what you’re looking for. Trails are not marked. I wouldn’t recommend the entire loop as mapped here, ie through the Kuebler-Langford nature area, as the paths that connect it to Barton Park are little more than just deer track. The grass is too long and the path too unkempt for my taste. We’ve been there on the weekend in the summer (lots of traffic) and on a football Saturday in September (hardly anyone around). We’ve spotted Pileated Woodpeckers (the big kind) there each time we’ve visited.

Beautiful trail system! Make sure you download the map - there are no trail markings!

Great trail but make sure you bring a map - there are a lot of smaller loops and in & outs located within the major loop.
