Fairly steep and rocky, but pretty short, the views from the summit are great.

Well marked and snow covered trail, beautiful. I was short on time so I did Bicentennial to pine and back down Mountain House to the visitors center. I wore microspikes for a good run downhill

Trail was packed down snow, a little slushy as temps went above freezing

Love the snow

Rocky trail with several scenic overlooks. Viewing platform at the top. Recommend good footwear. Avoid when rocks are wet especially links like the Bicentennial trail. Treasure this place so close to home.

Very icy currently, however, if you stick just to the side of the main trail (in the snow) you’ll get enough traction to go right up and back down. Beautiful weather and not too crowded.

Summitted via Harrington, returned via Jack Frost and Echo Lake. Pretty much all trails broken out with packed snow on the ground. No snowshoes needed but microspikes highly recommended due to various icy spots. Not a bad trail but I enjoyed Jack Frost & Echo Lake trails much more due to scenery.

Hiked a variation of the Reservation Loop Trail from suggestion by Katharine Lange. Park at Visitors Center and follow Donbrowo Trail to ski area. Donbrowo not shown on my AllTrails app. Pass lodge and pick up Balance Rock Trail to Old Indian Trail. Balance Rock is an interesting large erratic. Avoid crossing active ski area by bearing right onto Semuhenna to West Side then back to Old Indian. Check out vista to SW not marked on map before final climb to summit. Down Harrington passed Vista well marked to Link to Jack Frost (very nice walk through large evergreens) to High Meadow (another vista) and back to Visitors center via Bicentennial. High Meadow to Bicentennial link not shown on AT app. About 5 mile loop in about 3 hours. Certainly would do this loop again. 40 degrees and 20 MPH winds made it chilly on top.

Did Mountain House Trail. Lot of people but nice trail.

Well marked trail with a few spots to stop and relax w/picnic tables. Parking is easy to find and the trail starts right across the street. I will be going back when I have more time to explore.

excellent hike for adults and older kids

Beautiful day with 70 degrees at end of October. Who'd have thought. Parked at visitor's center, took Bicentennial to High Meadow Trl to Jack Frost then Mountain House Trl to summit. Pretty crowded at summit with clear views to Mt Monadnock, Mt Greylock and several other mountains and Boston in distance. On way down, we took Harrington Trl to Link Trl then to Loop Trl and finally Bicentennial which led us back to our car. Steep in a few spots, but not too difficult. I concur with the rating of moderate.

Challenging at least for me but in a good way nice work out good scenery

took bicentennial to high meadow to jack frost then Harrington up to summit. took pine trail down. pretty at the top but didn't like that the summit is accessible by car, kinda ruins it to get to the top and see a bunch of people and cars.

Recommend parking at visitor's center then taking the Donboro Trail--> Balance Rock --> Old Indian --> *Summit* --> Loop Trail back to parking lot. Gives you summit toward the end, something to look forward to! Views were truly spectacular, could see all the way from Mt Greylock to Mt Monadnock to Boston. Trails were well marked and clear. Food afterwards: Princeton Pizza House!

what a nice relaxing hike. nice day. i always fight going to wachesset but when i get there i all ways enjoy it. thank you for another great walk in the woods.

Lots of variety. Occasional steep inclines but overall a beautiful walk!

The parking lot was full and the summit was packed. The view from the summit was just ok, BUT the hike to get there was beautiful. We took the long scenic route which had many wooded areas to stop and explore, and we found salamanders and birds to watch. We just didn't enjoy having to cross roads during the hike. There were a few parts I would call moderate but it was mostly an easy, fun hike.

Great sights with views of Boston, lakes, windmills and more.

A perfect weather day! Although the park was busy, this hike kept us off the more popular trails until the decent down Pine Hill Trail. There is quite a bit of elevation gained that is given back before hitting the summit, so expect some climbing. The final push to the summit is pretty steep but manageable. My 13 y/o daughter loved it. My 10 y/o was pushed quite a bit. We are definitely going back again and will try a different loop. The park rangers were a tremendous help as well...I recommend you talk with them prior to taking off.

Really nice hike, goes through old growth forest and great vistas of the wind farm

Fun hike with lots of different choices of trails ..

Perfect trail to hike in a few hours' time in and back with terrain of roots, rock, and smooth forest floor to navigate. A few scenic wooden bridges and peaceful forest.

nice hike. Very buggy - bring/wear bug spray. Started early, so there were few hikers. Most difficult part of the trail is the last bit on bicentennial - lots of rocks. Otherwise a relatively easy trail - not sure why this is rated hard. It does climb steadily in some areas, but never more than 600 feet, and that is at the very beginning.

Definitely the most 'civilized' hike we've ever done. Plenty of parking lots to choose from, and there was quite a crowd today. Not enough to be annoying or anything, but I'm usually expecting solitude when I go for mountain hikes.

Lots of these people brought their dogs! I love that, though. Got the guts to ask one owner to pet his super fluffy pup. Everyone was friendly, as was the staff.

It was a bit wet from the rain the day before, but otherwise, the trails were well kept and the roads were well paved. Taking a star off for the views at the top being only okay.

Really cute small hike! The top is pretty crowded but plenty of space and views! Fun to do with friends!
