Really fun loop with great views of Long Pond. Mostly smooth single track with a couple of short sections that are fairly technical. Overall, a great place for a run in the woods!

There are other parking areas for this trail - a canoe launch area on Doane Hill Road, the picnic area on Royalston Road, and at the dam on Royalston Road. Doane's falls is a series of cascades and is great during times when significant water is flowing. A nice hike.

Enjoyed the rolling terrain, views and many bridges to cross the wet areas. Nicely maintained!! Aside from the distance covered, rather easy trail...and my fur babies loved it.

Parking was adequate and easy at the boat launch area. Trail is right next to it. Trails were intended for bikes so more than adequate for hikers. Vegetation was a bit thick in areas. Rained the night before so was a bit wet, not a big deal though. View of the lake is pretty incredible. Was watching the fog roll off of it for at least ten minutes. And lots of animal life. Saw tons of coyote skat, a doe stared us down for over a minute (enough to get a pic snapped), birds singing the whole time and the ground was full of newts and turtles. Overall great hike. Finished it in 7.86 miles in under 3 hours. Only downfall was the horse flies and mosquitos. A head net was absolutely necessary. Without it in sections it would have been brutal. Going to give it a try in the winter.

I use this trail often, and never get tired of it. It's also a great single track loop for mountain biking. When you get to the wooden bridges, and if you have the extra hour or so, take the hike to the top of Spirt Falls and back.

This is the best trail. I mostly ride on my Mountain Bike. It has everything from an old Revolutionary cart road to single track. You'll have to work on this trail. I'm often rewarded with seeing Heron,Deer, Moose and occasionally Bear. The trail is used by runners, hikers and Mountain Bikers. I often bring a fishing rod. The trail goes up one side of Long Pond and down the other. There are a few brooks along the way, too. Trail is 7.5 miles and I've ridden it in @ an hour. There are "Rock Gardens" and plenty of two board bridges so paying attention is rule #1.
There is a Triathlon in the Fall consisting of Kayak/Canoe, trail run around Tully Lake and Mountain Biking. Tri can be solo or team.
