Decided to go here as I hadn't walked the area in about 35 years. Found out there is an outer loop and a lakeside loop or shorter walk. The outer has some undulation on the trails and a little bit of elevation changes. Took about 45 minutes for the outer loop. The area has moderate traffic so expect to see a few people walking the area. There are also many other trails that branch out from this so take a brochure as you start the hike in case you want to extend your walk. The beginning is just to the left of the parking lot but it doesn't really say it's the starting area. It just is an area with a place to view the map and has a gate so start walking up and look for yellow blazes. It's really not that difficult and I would consider it an easy trail but on the higher end of that rating. Did the inner or lakeside loop afterwards and this starts next to the yellow blazed trail. Look to the left as you start walking up from the gated area and then stay close to the lake. The trails are really like something you'd see going to Disney. They put gravel down in spots so it's more like a walking on a sidewalk to start. You go over a nice footbridge and can check out some of the back of the lake if you want to walk down from the trail to the side of it.

A great trail to get some cardio on. Expect a steep incline for the first 2.5 miles and then a beautiful traverse with some small rock scrambles.

Great short hike with rewarding views!

awesome peaceful hike

Very pretty. I didn't take the whole trial because it was overgrown w/ long grass beyond the water in places, but if you had long pants, it would be fine. I stuck to the trail that circled the water & it was 1-1.5 miles, varying in ease of the actual path. If you are looking at the water from the road, the path on the left of the water is much bumpier, w/ hills & roots, while the path on the other side is flatter and well-maintained. There are a couple places to sit near the water, as well as a few picnic tables & grills nearby. I've hiked Mt Tom countless times, but found out about this trail through this app & love it cuz it's a nice short walk for after work, esp since sunset is getting earlier. Make sure to park outside the gate on Reservation Rd (from the Holyoke side) if you will be there after 6pm, so you don't get locked inside & have the call the state troopers, like the people we saw last time we went.

A good stretch of the legs. Uneven ground and a good length make it not the easiest trail for some people, but it's scenic and provides views of Bray Lake and the surrounding woodland.

Fun hike, title is a bit misleading though. It's the kay bee trail to the keystone extension to the d.o.c and m-m trails. The kay bee is only about 1.8 miles of the 7 miles it takes to complete this. Beautiful views to the west, not so much the south (maybe Hartford on a clear day) or north. Nothing could really be seen to the east.

Nice easy walk/hike. There is plenty of up hill walking, but gradual. The tower views at the top are worth it. There are marked trails off of the trail of you are feeling adventurous. Dogs allowed, but must be in leash.

Beautiful walking areas. There is a nice easy trail for leisurely walks and a higher intensity trail for those looking for more exercise.

Took the dog on the hike and was really nice. Some up and down so interesting. Many off shoot trails that are marked well that will have to be checked out in future.

Simple, straightforward day hike. It won't take you long but the views at the top are amazing! Great to pack a picnic, sit on the cliffs and watch Western MA from above :)

It was an awesome trail but it lead me to others! I did the "Tea Bag Trail and then ended up going to "Goat Peak" and the reward was a priceless view!

Bray Lake Loop Trail is a nice trail for all ages. It has about 330ft of elevation gain with 410ft of descent. It wraps around Lake Bray with a few nice bridges to stop and have a snap and throw rocks in the water. I recently did this hike with my wife and our three year old. He was entertained most of the time and it was fun for everyone. Total milage is about 2 miles from parking area.

Nice little trail for after work exercise or something if you're local, but nothing to go out of your way for. I am about 10 minutes away and my son and I will race up the trail. As one of the other reviewers said, you come through this peak when taking the M and M trail across the Mt Tom range which is definitely worth the trip. You get a pleasant view of Easthampton from the bench and a nice view towards the Seven Sisters from the tower. Great day hike if you have adventurous little ones. Not sure where the tracking shown on the map is going, but it's certainly not Goats Peak.

Bray Lake Loop trail: I am a beginner, and this trail was nice.... A few nice hills... I will wear better shoes next time. The lake views were very pretty! I found maps just laying on the ground but it's good to have a trail map just in case... We had to check the map to make sure we were on the correct trail a few times.

Did the entire loop this time. The beginning portion is extremely easy with gravel, wide path. After that it crosses a bridge and then turns to a regular somewhat narrow hiking trail. Not difficult, mostly flat, but be careful after it rains. We went after alot of rain and it was extremely muddy.

After hiking in the morning on the Robert Frost in the Mount Holyoke Range State Park which was very muddy due to all the recent rains, we hit this trail. I was not expecting such a steep and long incline! Overall it was a decent trail, not my favorite on Mt. Tom, but decent enough!

We hadn't hiked to Goat Peak just for Goat Peak but rather hit this lookout while doing a section hike of the M&M trail through Mt. Tom State Reservation. There is a small area at the lookout with two benches. The view is very pretty but not all that impressive in comparison to other areas on the reservation.

The bray lake trail is very easy. My husband and I spent this past weekend hiking various trails on the Mt. Tom Reservation. The day we went on the Bray Lake loop we had parked on reservation road, followed the Link Trail (which didn't appear to see much usage as it was very narrow from growth) then to the Lost Boulder trail (pretty trail through a grassy open area with an environment unlike those seen at other locations on the mountain) and then to the bray lake loop. This loop is wide, very well maintained and an easy hike/walk. We had completed this then went up the road to the T Bagg trail which is more challenging took a left to the M&M trail toward goat peak and back to our car via reservation road. It's a beautiful area to hike.
