Absolutely beautiful. Empty beaches with stunning views. I would not rate this as difficult and we don’t hike often.

What an Amazon experience! The trail is amazing. Mostly flat. However, there are a few stairs to climb. The view was amazing. Feeding the birds was hands down our favourite!

We loved it!

very nice views, but would have loved if it would have been dog-friendly

We did this today nice rolling hills and views of sand dune shrubs

Awesome day! Easy walk in the sand.

I accidentally went way beyond the "gut" portion of the trail, because it was a gorgeous day and the walk along the shore was fairly easy.

Nice place to walk, but a bit of a challenge slogging through the sand

started the trail mostly marsh with a trail mostly sand. through a wooded area that isn't clearly marked but able to find our way back to the main trail. this portion is a wide path, sand, pine needles. lots of trees then circles back around to the marsh area. the last bit of the loop seems to closed, it is roped off and the signs say it is suberged. trail ends walking back in the beach, as u continue on the beach there is a large house near the parking area but couldn't find a marked exit off the beach back to the parking area....2 sets of stairs....one marked private. took the other set that lead to woods near the house where the owner of the home came outside yelling we were on private property.....even though the stairs up the dunes were not marked. apologized for not being sure of the trail as she continued to tell us all this land is private....guess she owns the national seashore of wellfleet....not worth your time

beautiful early morning walk on the water

Pretty trail! make sure to wear mosquito repellant!

Great hike with amazing views, make sure to go while the tide is going out so you don't get stuck.

First mile over the breakwater requires some agility - not a lot, but some - from there, the open water side of the peninsula is solitary and beautiful. While swimming several seals popped up nearby. It was a unique experience. The water is crystal clear. The route is rated difficult because after the rocky breakwater, it's 4 miles of soft sand. When at last you return to solid ground, you feel like a gazelle. It's worth the drive out...definitely.

This would have been 4*.....but big signs... NO PETS/DOGS! Found only by seeking "dog friendly"

A beautiful trail but watch out for skeeters. one of our favorite short trails on the cape.

beautiful walk but wouldn't rate it as hard - highly recommend

I'd call it more of a walk than a hike. Gorgeous and sandy.

Great hike. Awesome scenery. It depends what you are used to doing (not as hard as a mountain hike) I wouldn't rate as difficult. On a nice June day it would be a cool walk on the beach. We did it on 30 degree day with 40 mph winds. Loved the challenge!

Amazing trail. Lots to see.

I love this little Trail full of History. I'm a decendant of over four pilgrims, so it it's kind of nostalgic in a way to walk these Trails thinking of my ancestors. Thank God they came here in November and didn't have to deal with the bugs. lol

Wonderful hike for a beautiful Thanksgiving Day with family. It is more like 6 miles if you do the whole loop. A good workout.

Excellent hike! Although it is strenuous and definitely takes it's toll on your body, this hike provides stunning views of Cape Cod and the beaches and ocean. It is also very exciting to simply say you've hiked to the absolute tip of Cape Cod.

It's a great place Great Island. What I didn't expect was the amount of walking in soft sand...'twas a bit draining. Also it it's longer that stated. More like a 6 mile loop.

Quick and easy trail from the salt pond out to the beach was about 15-20min bike ride on the trail. We had age ranges from 8-56 years old varying levels on being in shape and out of shape. Has a couple of hills to climb and cruise down. Getting to the beach is very cool with not too many people there where you can see seals and some historical coast guard buildings. Great views as well.

This trail is no longer dog-friendly.

great quick trail, watch out for Poison ivy in places. Especially like the memorial stone for the Pilgrims spring it must have been great to have fresh water after so long at sea.

It had a lot of everything. Groomed hard packed beach trails, marshes, challenging soft sand beaches, narrow forest trails, sun, shade, gentle hills, flat coastal areas, hermit crabs, minnow-filled tide pools, 450-million year old horseshoe crabs, etc. Well marked, but good luck finding the 18th C. Whaler's Tavern. Don't know why it's marked moderate; it's quite easy, and as long as you want it to be.

Great beaches. Crowds were sparse even in early August.
