Fun summer trail with lots of sun cover.

Nice varied environments. Up through the forest, hilltop meadow, then back along the river. No shade in the meadow, would be very hot on a sunny summer day.

This was a beautiful hike. Great for bird watching and I loved the different landscapes from open farm fields, beautiful wooded area, and then hiking next to the susquehanna river. The only thing is you really need the app or a map to figure out where you are going, it's a bunch of different trails all linked together to make one big loop. At one point I lost cell service and had to backtrack a little bit to figure out which way to go, but all in all was a great hike.

This was a sincerely beautiful hike - beautiful views, many terrains and landscapes. My first time on this, but definitely not my last.

My 5yo and 8yo daughters and I only did the section from the mill to Deer Creek. It was a pretty fun hike along the old railroad track. There were a lot of tripping hazards with the railroad ties at varying heights and some washouts along the way. However, it was a very beautiful hike with lots of scenery. The bird watching was amazing.

Pretty nice trail. Not very challenging. But the view along fisherman’s trail is wonderful. Many different plants to see in the spring time. Part of connect between fisherman’s trail and ivy trail head is on the road, kinda dangerous. Otherwise great trail.

great trail! very scenic, loved that it is by the water.

Fun hike! Following the map on this app helps, as the trails are not always well labeled. The meadows are beautiful and you can see some great eagles, hawks, and osprey!

This map does not keep you on the correct trail!

Not very challenging, yet there are a few scrambles. If you’re looking for a low-key trail then this is the one for you

This trail was alot of fun. Views of the river from water level and above.

good challenge

first part is smooth and easy, second part is steep. good combination

We started on the blue trail at the picnic area. Found what we think was a pile of bear poop. It was fresh. Please be careful. Trail is rocky with gradual incline.

Great trail, easy to navigate. And for a portion of the trail there is a decent view of the Susquehanna river and Port Deposit.

Recommend also taking the short segment of trail down to Lapidum Rd which includes a brief opening of a view with a bench without going too far down the hill. The rest of that descent does include several moderately steep switchbacks as is typical on Mason Dixon trail (better than straight up/down though).

Very easy trail with mix of forest and fields (little bit of elevation). It doesn't show on the AllTrails map, but the Farm Road Trail (blue) part of this loop actually runs all along a stream (also the wider part of the path).

No views along the Ridge trail except through the trees in the winter. The ascent is very gradual as it winds around so is never really steep and is also pretty clear of usual rocks/roots on trails like these. The segment along the river is very easy and flat, but does have a number of turns so not as boring as could be. Plenty of spots along that stretch to step down right next to the river. Once continuing on the train tracks, there is a sign early on warning the trail is unmaintained. In the winter it isn’t so much a problem except for couple of spots where is almost completely eroded away. However, given the large amount of encroaching plants, would think this part of the trail is probably not too great in the summer when everything is grown in and best to stick to the road to reach the bridge.

Great signage throughout all the trails (all the blazing/signs with matching colors). As others have mentioned, there are couple spots where the intersection or entrance of a trail does not quite align with the dashed paths on AllTrails map, but as long as you know the color you need to follow isn't a problem. There were only 1 or 2 spots I encountered, but seemed to follow the AllTrails path for the majority of it. Suggest comparing with or giving park trail map a glance beforehand if unsure: https://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/Documents/SSP_map.pdf The brief segment of trail at the southern corner down to Lapidum Rd is rather worth it if you enjoy lots of curves and steeper trail (even a bench with an actual view not too far down from the main trail). There is also a short segment of Mason Dixon Trail that switchbacks up/down from the Ridge trail down to Stafford Rd (AllTrails shows a more straight path which isn't actually there)...also worth it if you like more rugged/rocky experience.

A nice combo of forest, field, stream crossing and the river. All the trails in the state park are in good shape...only a few that have very minimal rocks, but not on this route (very clear). There is a moderate climb at the beginning on Ivy Branch trail, but nothing remotely steep.

Great day for hiking 9 miles from red Susquehanna Ridge trail to white, yellow, blue, orange, blue, green and back on red trail to the mill.
