Nice easy hike with lots of shade and wildlife! The portion by the lake was a bit crowded but other than that we only saw a few people out. Highly recommend tasting the wild raspberries that are growing everywhere along the path!

Hiking

Great trail that offers views of wildlife that make their home near the lake. Expect to see snakes, turtles, and deer. The trail is mostly shaded by trees but you may need to bring a bottle of water when the humidity is higher than usual. Moderate traffic, but still a nice escape from the metro area.

Moderate tough trail. Muddy and scrambled. Many bikers. Stream crossings and some river views. Not scenic but good one for long and enduring hike.

Such pretty views! A lot of creeks to walk in and small bridges. Definitely a little muddy. Lots of bikes but everyone was nice about passing. A little hilly but nothing too crazy. Good for beginners.

Incredible trail that takes you to the Seneca State Park. Best view for morning people. The only downside, it’s easy to get lost.

Really overgrown and under trafficked. Didn’t see anyone else on the trail. Needs some serious maintenance

Beautiful well maintained trail with lovely lake views and birds. Mostly flat and shaded. A little crowded. Most people wearing masks. Suggest early am or evening to avoid crowds.

This was a good quick hike with the kids (9 and 7 years old). Easy terrain and the right distance.

Excellent trail that, even on Memorial Day weekend, was lightly trafficked. Easy to navigate. Lots of ferns and wild rose.

HikingGreat!

Peaceful hike with great shade. Couple of sections reminded me of Northern California. Challenging but doable for our 3 year old. The section bordering the lake gets a little crowded, but no complaints about the rest.

Hiking

The trail is really pretty, goes through some lush wooded areas, crosses a few creeks and offers plenty of shade and vegetation. I was tempted to give it four stars but as a hiker I hate that it is so crowded with mountain bikes. I finally decided to hike the whole loop on a rainy day and there was no bike to spoil the fun! The app is a little off, the loop as indicated is actually 9.3 miles. If you hike this on a sunny weekend watch out for those crazy MTBs, they never stop and hardly give a warning. Terrain is easy overall, a tad rocky in some sections. There are plenty of intersecting trails but there many maps along the trail so it’s fairly easy to follow the loop in case you don’t have your phone.

It was a great little hike for my two-year-old on his strider bike. It wasn’t muddy at all because it hasn’t rained in 10 days. The grass is starting to get pretty overgrown in sections, so I was scared of getting ticks

Pleasant trail with almost nobody on it. I only passed 2 joggers and 2 pairs of hikers. Minimal road noise. Would definitely do it again. Note that Mink Hollow Trail isn't a loop trail, this route is a combo of Mink Hollow, Clopper Lake, and Long Draught trails, so pay attention to blazes and the map. There is a fee to enter the park on weekends- $3 for MD plates, $5 for out of state.

Unfortunately we couldn’t visit this park, it was closed due to the pandemic . Officers were blocking the entrance. We passed by at 230pm and cars were leaving but they weren’t letting anyone in so maybe they just closed early.
