Photos of Patapsco Valley State Park Avalon Area Bird Watching Trails

With rain in the forecast, I decided to hike a safer loop with a ( option ) of heading back down. - This three mile loop is quite easy and I knew I could get back if it got back out. - Most of the trails in the Patapsco ( Avalon ) always start with an uphill climb but sooner or later you have to come down off the mountains. - The downhills are bad if the trail is wet and covered in leaves. - The option to this loop was to come back down via the Old Stone Road. - You can go up and return on the New Ridge trail but it gets very slippery in the rain. - Plan ahead and be safe if they are called for bad weather.
