Walking around this forgotten historical site is great for a quick family outing. There is a playground near the water for younger kids. The loop is made of asphalt and easy on your feet and stroller friendly. At the top of the loop you can see water and a small beach area. I would stay off the rocks on the beach. Kids will have fun looking into some of the cells. But sadly most of the ones you can explore are covered in graffiti.

I grew up in this area back in the 60's. Lots of History here regarding the Battle of 1812. This is were the British landing during the battle for Baltimore. The ship invasion targeted Fort McHenry but the land force marched up from Fort Howard to North Point and ended at Battle Grove where General Ross was defeated. An American sharpshooter shot him.
Small park with great history and trails. Great for Seniors. Mainly all FLAT.

The trail was paved and well-maintained, although there was a lot of garbage in some areas. It was a very easy walk and suitable for all ages and most fitness levels. We had an enjoyable time exploring the various batteries and other structures located on the property. We also strolled down to the water. Overall, it was a nice way to kill a few hours on a chilly Monday morning.

Good walk, friendly atmosphere. May even see a snake if you pay close attention. Also holds history with the historic dungeons.
