The trail is more like easy than moderate.

The trail head begins in a neighborhood and their is no parking lot, so the only place to park is on the street. As someone who prefers natural surface trails, the paved surface was also a turn-off.

Easy. Great shady hike.

I think the name is incorrect. Should be Cabin Branch Trail (the Cabin John area is about 15 miles from here) the signs also say Cabin Branch. The trail ends at Lake Ridge Dr. You can walk along the road or cross it and take another trail back.

I rode my recumbent trike on the trail and found it quite scenic and picturesque. Although some folks prefer dirt trails I like the paved due to the width of my trike. There was plenty of shade and wildlife. I even got to take pics of a doe and her fawn. Last but not least I can ride the trike to the trail from home and that’s a big plus for me.

Nice trail with a location by the water. Only downside (at least for me) was that it’s mostly paved, there are however some random paths off the main trail where you can walk down to the water and see some stunning views. It’s a bit crowded in the main areas but the trail itself didn’t have too many people. Lastly, this is an awesome place for people who love to fish! Just be aware there are snakes, black rat snakes, which are for the most part harmless. Definitely reccomend this trail for a low key Sunday!

Took us about 1 hr 15 minutes. Very pretty walk, well maintained

I prefer less pavement but it was a really great hike!

Nice place for hiking. there is a bridge and comment path way. super easy hiking.

Great trail! Moderate or easy difficulty, but with hills and woods and lake views, it is not boring!

A decent trail, a good portion is paved.

Overgrown and narrow in a few parts. Goes through open fields, open woods and along paved roads. Little muddy at times. I took a few unintentional and one intentional detour.

Nice trail- much of the lower part is paved with some hills but the more northern sections are great quiet wooded paths.

marked easy but don't be fooled there are some rocky parts with some roots and some mud and up hill but it rolls fast coming back remember to stop and eat the berries there are three trees that are down so that isn't fun but up ahead there is a trail post that says Diabase trail do not take stay on hoyles mill trail it will take you to the pump track near the soccer Plex and the driving field which has AC and a water fountain. Enter where 121 dead ends at 117 near the under pass

Lots of forks in the trails and not enough signs to label them. Overall could’ve been worse but also could’ve been better

It’s definitely and easy trail, but it’s and old favorite. Great for running. Can easily be stretched to increase the mileage.

I love to hike with my best buddy Ryley pup

Nice unpaved trail that links up to lake and Cabin John trail. Not too challenging!

Mostly paved trail in a beautiful setting!

This trail is moderately trafficked and has tons of dog poop all over it. The trail itself is not challenging enough to be classified as moderate. Very disappointed, would not recommend.

The hike had some nice views but it was really just great for wildlife. We stumbled upon deer, squirrels, multiples species of birds, and plenty of wildflowers with multiple butterfly species and bumblebees. Really lively hike.
