Beautiful little hike!

Nice woods and creek, but very rocky and slippery to hike with a 4 yo and a baby carrier. We didn't go the whole way because of a couple falls and tears.

A long walk through nice mixed forest. Lots of raspberry bramble. Damp trail means lots of biting bugs but also frogs, snakes and birds. The trail we walked is out and back, not a loop. Picnic table at edge of lake where the trail ends. Id rate this easy. Similar to hatchery brook just much longer.

Nicely marked trail through pretty woods with a pleasant end at Smith Cove. Very straightforward and pleasant hike. Not difficult at all.

This is not a “moderate” hike as listed. Easy for sure. No elevation gain, or at least you don’t feel it. There was some construction being done to freshen and add planked walkways. I’m for it in some areas, but the more that is added, the more it takes away from the scenic environment. Hope they don’t go overboard with it...

Awesome short hike. Went in March, so the trail was completely covered in ice and snow. The waterfalls and river frozen over made for an incredible sight. We were lucky that snowshoe tracks made navigating the trail less slippery, but there are plenty of trees along the route to grab on to when balance feels precarious. If you’ve never seen the trail in winter, it is definitely worthwhile!

Beautiful and crisp day to view the falls and gorge after a snowfall.

South Bog Trail is a quiet trail located on the southern shore of Rangeley Lake. It's a long, beautiful walk in and a great trail to spend some time on with your family. There's an interpretive section of the trail for visitors.

great hike with beautiful views

My favorite place to swim, not usually crowded and so much to explore! The water is super cold unfortunately, but so worth it!

Grew up with this trail in my back yard. Use to hike it before it was open to the public. This trail is definitely one of the best places to visit two waterfalls in the Rangeley area.

This historic place has WORLD CLASS fly-fishing. Need I say more?

One of my favorite trails in the Rangeley Region! Feature several waterfall drops, awesome fly-fishing and some great swimming holes!

Excellent trail for all ages! The forest really varies as you complete the loop and it leads you to a beautiful view of Rangeley Lake. There is a picnic table at the lake to sit and rest and enjoy the view!
