This was an okay trail overall. Not the best views but some beautiful areas in the woods with some rock walls and cemeteries. A good general nature walk.

I decided to take the Sherwood Libby trail. Very nice trail, some nice elevation to get the heart pumping. I didn't end up doing the whole trail. I got stuck next to a townie couple and their kid, all of whom could not stop yelling at the top of their lungs in a nice, peaceful forest. Mosquitoes were really bad, but its the woods so what do you expect. Great hike, just be sure to let the yelling family finish their hike before you start yours.

Lots of bugs and we needed bug repellent. There was also a good amount of mud this time of year. But the view at the top was stunning.

Decent views from the summit and Limerick scenic view. Relatively difficult to run. Tried taking a few side trails, very hard to follow doesn’t seem like they’re used much. Had to seriously bushwhack through one.

the top is good for a picnic and it's good for families with little kids.

Have hiked this mountain several times!!! Love the new Sherwood Libby Trail on the Limington side of the mountain, its in the woods and you go by several rock walls. This is a a newer trail and it's very easy to follow, marked really good. Not a great view at the top but overall a nice hike.

Not my favorite hike. It was mostly wooded and more of a nature walk than a hike (nice but not what I was expecting). The views at the peak were limited but pretty. Might hike again someday to check out the waterfall and explore a little more. I wouldn’t recommend this trail for running as the trail has lots of little rocks.

Enjoyable hike but not much variety to it or views. Did find a bunch of different kinds of mushroom on the path and saw the occasional chipmunk and toads.

Bond Mountain trail is largely an old logging road. It starts at the gate by Bond Spring, which is one of the areas only usable roadside springs. Follow the rather rocky logging road for about 15 to 20 minutes until the steady incline plateaus. Soon on the left you'll see an old stone foundation that belonged to Captain Bond and his family. Across from the foundation you'll see a somewhat traveled, ribbon-marked trail that goes to an outlook toward the north, where you'll get a view of Rock Haven Lake partially obscured by trees and some foothill views in the distance. Up and back takes about 50 minutes to an hour. Just good enough to get the heart pumping if you take it aggressively.

Today’s hike in the Sawyer Mountain Highlands was wonderful! We went to the trailhead at Limington (117), got a map, and decided to go up the Sawyer Mountain Road. We saw the sign for the Sherwood Libby Trail, but most reviews we read were for the former, so we opted for that. The trail is so interesting! There are cabins and homes right on the road, as well as numerous cemeteries and side trails. We stayed on the main trail and with a few stops for breathing and water, made it to the top with no problems. The bugs (after spraying ourselves with bug spray) were minimal, although we had to reapply later in the hike. We descended via the Sherwood Libby Trail, which proved to be a beautiful, winding meander through the woods, up and down several “hills”. There are some steep areas, but nothing too taxing. Amazing rock walls for property boundaries made us appreciate the hard work the early settlers must have endured. The whole trip took us just under 3 ½ hours (4.9 miles). Lots of stops for pictures and trail mix! Saw two owls and the usual number of squirrels. Everything was well-marked and easy to follow. We understand the Sherwood Libby Trail is new…great job! We will definitely go back.

Very nice hike. Limited views. Good for warming up early in the year.

Nice hike, trail is easy. However Its not marked at all. You need to park on Bridge St and walk up Peaked Mtn. Rd. (it’s a private driveway). As the road turns right towards a house stay straight to go into the woods. At the fork in the trail go left. It’s 1.2 miles one way. Good view on top. Also pulled a dozen ticks off between 5 of us.

Nice trail for a walk in the woods, not much for views.

Tried to go last week and the trail road was like hiking up a stream. It had rained the two days beforehand, but was frustrating and the trail was not super well marked. may try again when it's been dry for longer.

If you’re looking for an arm workout to accompany your hike then this trail is for you... because you’ll be swatting away some relentless flies for your entire journey! I’m pretty sure I’m not technically a vegetarian anymore because I swallowed at least 4 flies, gross. I took the Sawyer Mountain Trail from Limington which was pretty decent! Make sure to wear sturdy hiking boots because the majority of the trail is very rocky, seemingly a former river bed. There were some pretty views from the summit but overall it was underwhelming. On the way down I was trying to go a little faster to seek refuge from the swarm of flies and unfortunately fell really hard on a slippery rock, so be sure to take your time and pack your insect repellent!
