Absolutely stunning views! Great hike break if you're heading up to Acadia.

One of my favorites.

There was only one trail sign to Mount Megunticook and that was at the beginning. We thougth we were on the wrong trail because when we followed it we were no where near the All Trails location. Turned back to check signs and there was no mention of Mount Megunticook at the last signage. We continued on and the summit is actually the X with an elevation of 1312. There is no view but if you go about another half mile there is a gorgeous lookout over the harbor. Trail was mostly in the woods with a few outlooks.

Last hiked it on August 31, 1997. What can I saw that has not already been said by many visitors about this spectacular hike?

Great day. Great hike!

My wife and I loved it. Beautiful hiking! Rated moderate but wasn't all that difficult. Rated a little higher than easy would be better to say. The views were absolutely fantastic. The cross and story associated with it was very sad but good.

I want to let people know that aren't athletes or experienced hikers. This is very doable. It is not easy by any means, but it is very much worth it!!!! Remember lots of water and bug spray. And do not forget your camera!

The effort to views ratio is quite favorable here.
Somewhat crowded on the trail itself, but there are so many exposed ledges up top that you're sure to find a place of your own to relax and enjoy the views.

Great, short hike.
Amazing views from numerous ledges.

Absolutely gorgeous. But I wouldn't have rated it easy. Easy to moderate. Couple of really steep spots but gorgeous!!

New hikers, fun challenge, kid friendly (14 and 12yo), fabulous views!

great trail. easy enough for a 3 year old.

Nice hike relatively quickly and easy. The story and history you get along with the view was pretty neat.

A really great trail to take the family. Relatively easy if you are a hiker but doable if you're not. Some really nice views at the top and worth the trip! And super easy to get to (only a few minutes) from downtown Camden.

Beautiful views from the top and along the ridge part of the trail.

Great hike! Walked there from the campground where I was staying. Definitely more of a moderate hike; there were some very steep sections. The only thing that I would caution people about is that *all* of the trails are marked with a blue blaze. Due to that, I wound up taking the wrong trail down, and had to hike it back on the road for about a mile, which was frustrating. But besides that, the views are gorgeous! And the hike itself is great. Good luck finding the right trail back.....

Easy! Kid friendly

Just went camping with my dog. Decided to spend the day hiking. We hiked from the campground up ocean lookout. Continued on to maiden cliff, did a loop and continues back via jack Williams trail. Down through Adams lookout and back to the camp ground. Great day. Met a lot of dogs and people. The jack Williams trail was nice. No people and forested. Easy hike all around.

I had a couple of hours to kill on a bright sunny Saturday and picked this trail to tackle. It was a mile out and a mile back, steep enough to get the blood pumping, rocky enough to feel like hiking and not just a walk in the woods. The round trip took about 90 minutes and that's with a sit down on the rock cliff up top. What a gorgeous view!!! Worth the trip indeed!

Nice hike up. There was fog when we got to the lookouts, but it was still a fun hike. I'd rate this more at moderate than easy since some of the climbs are fairly steep and there was some slippery rock manuvering.

Gorgeous trail. Very rocky and almost lost the blue markers on the way down. Not sure why this is rated easy...I'd put it as a moderate skill level. Def got the heart rate up and I was a little banged up not using poles on the way down. Lots of beautiful streams and great views of lake and ocean if you do the full trail.

Easy morning hike with great views. Able to easily hike today without cleats. Great hike if you want to get out in fresh air and still have time to tour Camden/Rockland area.

My all time favorite local hike!!!!! This is is my go-to hike... An hour up and down if you don't do the loop. The loop is fantastic! Love that the trail is moderate the first half, then has a steep section, then peters out on a somewhat-ridge walk in the woods til you get to the summit. Again, I've hiked this soooooooo many times with my dog, and still love it!!!! I'm finally branching out to do other trails, but this is my favorite!

Excellent hike for most abilities, nice steady incline. Well marked. Some hikers looking for bigger challenge use this to trail run. Amazing views. Well travelled.
