A fun trail, moderately steep in a few places, great views at several points along the trail and at the top.

could still see the top by driving to it. but the walk up was 100% worth the climb. but if you don't want to climb up the rock face you can still see the veiws.

It felt more like a climb than a hike at points, but we still enjoyed it. The views were spectacular! Bring a lunch to enjoy at the top.

Kind of a weird feeling climbing up and then running into an asphalt road... Not nearly as rewarding as the Megunticook climb, but still pretty nice view when you get to the top. It can get confusing, especially when you get to the road, but still a lot of relatively stable land

Lots of rocky pathways and mostly horizontal. If you're coming from Megunticook, it's mostly downhill. Be careful with descending, it's easy to trip and fall. Still, the rocks are great and as long as you take it slow there is tons of awesome foliage to check out.

The ocean lookout view is incredible. Pretty tiring walk for a new hiker, but still very rewarding. The actual summit doesn't have much of a view, but it's extremely quiet and very serene. There are so many areas to go from the top, so many different trails and paths.

Great hike, lots of fun. Camden is an awesome place

I think this a moderate to hard trail. lots if trails to access different areas of the mountain side. Each has their own level of difficulty. well worth the effort for the views. Gorgeous!

The views are well worth it!

Great reward of a view at the top, not too many views throughout the hike. The last part of the the hike is on the road, wish it took you all the way up. Fairly easy though tiring hike up the mountain. Did this hike with 1 adult and 2 kids under 10.

gorgeous views at the top. worth the hike.

four of us, kids 9 & 10 and a tibetian terrier did the hike in a few hours. a good trail, nice views, moderate traffic, but everyone friendly

Great beautiful hike!!

Love this trail system. Well-worn trails, well marked, great for family hiking.

Gorgeous views of Camden Harbor, Penobscot Bay, and the surrounding mountains. Cool stone tower.

Tons of hiking options here. Great trail network. impressive views!

Excellent hiking trail network. The trail options here seem endless.

Went up with 3 adults and 5 kids. It was a great hike with a rewarding view at the top. Some steep areas, but if you take your time is no big deal. Plenty of rocks and roots so make sure to wear appropriate shoes. We will definitely be going here again!

on Mount Battie Trail

It is short but requires scrambling on all fours up a very steep rocky section. Would not recommend it for a casual hike with young kids. Great views from the top. Did not feel able to attempt going down, felt it was too dangerous, so did a nice hike through the woods near the road on they way back.

as one reviewer said, best views of penobscot bay. we hiked mt battie the day before and its wayyyy better. the north side of the loop shares a trail to mt frolock, so dont let that throw you off. its also less traveled, so a nice walk

We didn't think the views from Mt. Battie summit could be beat until we did this hike. It was fairly short, and we took the out and back which was said to have a more gradual ascent. No scambling required. The view from the top was spectacular. Photos can't do it justice. As we sat on a rock resting and taking it all in an eagle glided by right in front of us.

Took our grandkids (ages 10, 7, and 4) -- they loved it! Especially picking and eating the wild Maine blueberries along the way.

This trail was harder than I had expected. It’s pretty steep with lots of rocks and roots on the trail. On my way down (after having to literally jump off boulders) I saw a family wearing flip flops, sneakers or hiking shoes are definitely required here! Besides it being a challenge, this trail is really fun. I went after a few days of rain so there were a variety of mushrooms around. There were also wild blueberries at the top so I enjoyed some of those. It was rainy that morning so the rocks at the top were wet, it was hard to navigate so we took our time.

Great hike, took 4 kids and they rocked it. Uphill right from the start but the view is one of the best!

Short hike with nice views of Camden harbor.

Plenty of parking. Short trail with a great view. Make sure to find the monument for the child who died in the 1800's. The view is spectacular.

NICE TRAIL BY THE RIVER, OVER NIGHT ON TANGLEWOOD CAMP SITE.

Very nice flat loop trail. Very easy to follow the trails, but the intersection markings we're questionable. Also the maps provided we're not easy to follow. Plenty of parking. No great photo ops, but a nice trail to get some miles in.

Great hike to do with kids!

Buggy!
