We did this 2 days in a row and loved it!

My wife and I were looking for a short, muddy slog after several days of rain. This trail did not disappoint. We counterclocked the yellow blazes and I recommend you do the same, as you will enjoy the vistas more as they were a complete surprise to us near the end of the loop. Overlooking fields of white and yellow flowers, I felt like Dorothy approaching the emerald city, except we did not get tired. No sir. The limestone waterfalls and stream crossings were surprisingly ubiquitous, but maybe this was from all the rain. At 1.2 miles we continued our journey out-and-back the half mile Leatherwood trail for even more scenery and a Large waterfall.

This is my favorite trail in The Parklands of Floyd's Fork. Challenging and steep in parts, there are lots of interesting falls and rock formations. You can take the Leatherwood connector trail up to the overlook for added length and interest. Both of them are more challenging than other trails in the park, but I still find it easy enough to run on them without breaking an ankle.

Snow and ice. Be cautious on slopes.

Very slippery and muddy. Bailed out half way through and went back on the paved road. On a better day it would’ve been really nice.

Great hike today! Extra muddy! But the creek crossings and waterfalls were really cool!

I do this one over and over with the kids. I enjoy going left at the start to get my heart pumping on that climb.
